Help RCMP locate theft suspect

November 10, 2020, New Minas, Nova Scotia . . . On November 6, Kings District RCMP was called to a grocery store in New Minas to investigate a theft of personal items that were left in a shopping cart in the parking lot. Police attended and determined that a black travel bag had been removed from a shopping cart. The bag contained money and a foreign passport and driver’s license.

Police identified a suspect through the store’s video surveillance. A woman with longer length brown hair wearing a white jacket, plaid shirt, black mask and black leggings was observed removing the travel bag from the victims shopping cart at approximately 8:45 p.m. The woman then drove away in a white compact sized vehicle.

Police investigate a suspicious vehicle fire.

Patrol Investigators are currently investigating a suspicious vehicle fire that occurred just before midnight.

At 11:41 p.m. on November 8th, 2020, officers responded to a report of car exploding and on fire in the 0-100 block of Lynette Road, Halifax. When police arrived, the vehilce was fully engulfed.

Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency responded as well and have extinguished the fire. There were no reported injuries or further damage to other property. The vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

Elements noted on scene led police to believe the fire is suspicious. The investigation is in it’s initial stages and ongoing.

RCMP investigates boat fire in Meteghan River 

November 6, 2020, Meteghan River, Nova Scotia…   At 4:17 a.m. this morning, members of Meteghan RCMP responded to a boat fire on Hwy 1 in Meteghan River. The boat named “The One” is a recreational boat and was on dry dock. The boat was not occupied at the time and no one was injured. The damage was extensive.

The fire is considered suspicious. The RCMP is investigating the cause of the fire.

Police seek assistance with injured person investigation

Halifax Regional Police is seeking the public’s assistance in gathering information in relation to an injured person investigation.

On October 21 at approximately 5:50 p.m. officers responded to a report of a person who had been found injured on Hartlen Street in Dartmouth. He was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries that were consistent with an assault.

Investigators are seeking witnesses to the incident as well as information on the victim’s activities and/or whereabouts between October 20 and 21.

We are not releasing a photo of the victim out of respect for his privacy. The victim is a 49-year-old man and is described as white, 5’8”, 120 lbs. with a slim build and brown hair. On the day of the incident he was wearing a black nylon jacket, a green and white striped shirt, jeans, black dress shoes and a brown fedora hat. He is known to frequent the Main Street/Tacoma Drive area of Dartmouth and usually wears blue sneakers and a black or blue Nike baseball hat.

Police investigating suspicious circumstances

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a report of suspicious circumstances that occurred in Clayton Park yesterday.

Police received a report that at approximately 12:30 p.m. a man approached a girl who was on a walking path near Woodward Avenue and Clayton Park Drive. The man tried to get the girl to go to his vehicle with him and then grabbed her by the arm when she tried to walk away. The girl was able to flee the area and tell a trusted adult what had happened.

The suspect is described as a man approximately 30-40 years old, 5’10” with a dark complexion and stocky build. At the time he was wearing a long black coat with the hood up over his head, large black sunglasses, a black non-medical mask, black sweat pants and black sneakers.

Police investigate bank robbery. ( SOLVED)

Patrol investigators & investigators of the General Investigation Section are investigating a bank robbery that occurred in Halifax this afternoon.

Just after 3pm., a man entered the TD Bank located at 5495 Spring Garden Road Halifax. The man stated he had a weapon, (although none was seen) and demanded cash. The man attempted to flee the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash when an enclosed dye pack discharged causing him to drop the money before fleeing. 

He was last seen traveling on Spring Garden Road. The matter is still in the early stages of investigation.

The suspect is described as a male having a “tanned complexion”, 6 feet tall and wearing a black toque.

RCMP investigates suspicious fire of storage trailer. Yarmouth

November 6, 2020, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia… Yarmouth RCMP is investigating a suspicious fire at a storage trailer on Water St. in Yarmouth.

At approximately 7 a.m. Thursday, Yarmouth RCMP and the Yarmouth Fire Department responded to a fire at a storage trailer on Water Street in Yarmouth. The trailer incurred significant damage. It contents mainly included empty cardboard boxes and it was not occupied at the time. Nobody was injured.

The investigation has determined the fire is suspicious and the investigation is ongoing.

Police continue to remain on scene in the 3000 block of Albert Street, Halifax, in relation to a report of shots fired at a residence. No injuries reported, and no suspect(s) in custody at this time. There is no indication of any threat to the public.

Hit&Run, Bedford

RCMP investigates hit and run

November 5, 2020, Bedford, Nova Scotia… Halifax District RCMP is investigating a hit and run that occurred in Bedford early this morning.

At 1:30 a.m., police were called to a single vehicle collision on Hwy. 102. Upon arrival, police were notified that another vehicle was involved in the collision but did not stop. Preliminary reports indicate that a white car was travelling south bound on Hwy 102. when it was struck on the passenger side by a dark pick up truck. The car then lost control and went into the ditch. The truck continued on south bound. Police made patrols for the suspect vehicle but it was not located.

At 10:20 pm HRP officers responded to a Robbery call at the Irving on 200 Waverly Road. A lone male entered the store and approach the clerk demanding cash. The suspect made off with an amount of cash and fled toward the 111 Highway. No weapon was seen and the clerk was not harmed. The suspect was described as mid 30’s, thin to medium build, 6’, with dark pants and a dark blue hoodie.
