Red Kawasaki ATV stolen from Brookside


Halifax District R.C.M.P. looking for assistance with information in relation to the theft of an ATV which was stolen sometime between Aug 18th at 0900 and Friday Aug 21st at 2000 hrs from Irisweg Drive in Brookside Tantallon area.

ATV is described as a Red Kawasaki 650 Brute Force – had a bunch of stickers on it (one is Humboldt Broncos), a winch on the front and Med Tires.   Plate associated is NS 44699 .   Please see attached pictures to keep an eye out for the ATV and if you have any info on the same please contact  Cst. Police looking for help to solve Kingswood Break and Enter

Halifax District R.C.M.P. looking for assistance with information in relation to the Break and enter into residence along Kingswood Drive in Hammonds Plains, N.S. between 6 p.m. and – 10:30 p.m. on Aug 22nd. The suspect(s) entered home and ransacked prior to fleeing the scene.  Anyone with information that may lead to suspects is asked to contact Cst. Police investigate Weapons Call

At 7:58 p.m., 2nd of November, Halifax Regional Police responded to report of a male with a firearm at Shoppers Drug Mart 5524 Spring Garden Road Halifax.  Callers reported a male placing a long gun in his pants and entering the store.  The male then left the store and boarded a Halifax Transit bus.  Multiple officers responded and arrested the suspect on the bus.  Officers confirmed there was not a robbery, however the suspect did commit a theft.  Incidental to arrest officers seized a long barrel pellet/bb gun and items stolen from the store.  A 34 year old male is held for court and facing charges of Using imitation firearm in the commission of an offence, Theft & Possession Under and Mischief.

Suspicious Death, Lunenburg County

Police investigate suspicious death

November 2, 2020, Pine Grove, Nova Scotia…
Lunenburg District RCMP with assistance from Southwest Nova Major Crime Team and Bridgewater Police Department are investigating the suspicious death of a 57-year-old Pine Grove man.

At 3:15 p.m. on October 30, Lunenburg District RCMP responded to a local hospital for a man who is believed to have incurred life-threatening injuries on Sunday, October 25 at a residence on Jippie Ave. in Pine Grove. On November 1 police were advised 57-year-old Donny Lohnes of Pine Grove had passed away as a result of his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing with assistance from Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office. At 4:14 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of possible gun shots in the 3000 block of Romans Avenue, Halifax.  Multiple officers responded and confirmed a shooting had taken place.  No one was injured and there no suspect information at this time.

Investigators with the General Investigation Section and the Forensic Identification Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation.  The investigation is in its preliminary stages and is ongoing.

Police Investigate a Weapon Call – Halifax

At 2:38 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of Weapons Call in the 6000 block of Quinpool Road, Halifax.  A caller reported an unknown male in a white car produced a firearm and pointed it and then took off.  The vehicle was last observed speeding toward Robie Street.  No one was injured.

Multiple officers searched the area, but have not located the suspect.  There is no suspect description at this time.  Investigators with the Quick Response Unit are conducting the infestation, which is in the initial stages.

Help Police solve Middle West Pubnico Fish Plant Arson

RCMP release photos and video of persons of interest in fish plant arson

October 30, 2020, Middle West Pubnico, Nova Scotia… Yarmouth County RCMP is releasing photos and video of persons of interest as it continues to investigate a suspicious fire that occurred at a fish plant in Middle West Pubnico.

Near midnight on October 16, Yarmouth County RCMP responded to a building fire at a fish plant in Middle West Pubnico. The fish plant incurred significant damage, it was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

The investigation has determined the fire to be suspicious. As part of its investigation, RCMP has obtained video of two persons of interest, which was captured near the time of the fire. RCMP is asking for assistance to identify the two individuals.

Red Craftsman Lawn Tractor Stolen in Chester

On October 10, 2020 between 9:00p.m. and 11:00 p.m. a riding lawn tractor was taken from a home owner’s shed on Fox Point Lake Road. the lawn tractor is described as being a red Craftsman with a push bar on the front and has a flat left front tire.

Police investigating roofing nails dumped on roadways, Shelburne County

… Barrington RCMP are investigating incidents of nails dumped on roadways between Newellton and Clarks Harbour in Shelburne County.

Today at 6:55 a.m., Barrington RCMP responded to reports of roofing nails on roadways in Newellton and Clarks Harbour. Officers located nails in multiple locations, including, on Hwy. 330 and entrances to West Head Wharf, Clarkes Harbour Wharf and Newellton Orion Wharf.

Police have not received reports of tires being damaged as a result of these incidents. The matters are still under investigation.

Shooting, Dartmouth

Police are investigating a shooting that occurred this morning in Dartmouth. 

At approximately 8:45 a.m. police responded to shots fired on Leaman Drive in Dartmouth. A man shot at a parked vehicle and then fled the area. At this time, there have been no reported injuries, and at this stage of the investigation, we believe the shooting is not a random incident. 

Streets in the area were temporarily closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic in part due to the proximity of the incident to John McNeil Elementary School. The area has now been reopened but officers remain in the area as the investigation continues.
