Halifax Regional Police is asking for the public’s assistance identifying a suspect in relation to a break and enter that occurred last month in Halifax.

On November 19 at approximately 2:45 a.m. officers responded to a report of a break and enter in-progress at a residence in the 1500 block of South Park Street in Halifax. A woman went to investigate noises she heard coming from another area of her apartment and found a man in the entryway of her residence. The man fled the apartment when confronted by the woman.

The man is described as white, in his 50’s, short, overweight, possibly bald, clean shaven and wearing a hat and a light green/beige jean jacket.

Help RCMP solve break, enter and theft

December 3, 2020, Halifax, Nova Scotia… Halifax District RCMP is asking for the public’s help to solve a break, enter and theft that occurred in Halifax.

Between 5 p.m. on December 1 and 8:30 a.m. on December 2, suspect(s) gained access to a construction site trailer on Hobsons Lake Dr. The suspect(s) left with a red Hilti cordless angle grinder with serial number 3490213, a red Hilti cordless circular saw with serial number 3272 and a red Hilti cordless reciprocating saw with serial number 120640.

Police Investigate an Assault with a Weapon – Dartmouth

At 3:29 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a two injured teenage males at the Halifax Transit Terminal on Nantucket Avenue Dartmouth.  Patrol officers located the injured males (both 17 yrs), one male sustained a small puncture wound that is non-life-threatening.  Officers learned that an unknown male attacked one of the teens without warning and then attacked the second male and produced a knife.  The suspect fled on foot prior to police arrival. The two injured males have been transported to the hospital.  The suspect is described as:

Suspect – White Male, 20-25 years, thin build, short brown hair, wearing a green hooded shirt and camouflage pants.

Investigators with Patrol and the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation, which is on going.

Help RCMP solve suspicious fire

November 30, 2020, Coldbrook,  Nova Scotia…Kings District RCMP is asking for the public’s help to solve a suspicious fire to a residence on Princess Crescent in Coldbrook.

Sunday morning at approximately 4:18 a.m., police were called to a house fire believed to be suspicious. The residence suffered extensive damage from the fire, however, there were no injuries. In partnership with the Kentville Volunteer Fire Department, RCMP members remain on scene and will be working closely with the Nova Scotia Office of the Fire Marshall to determine the cause of the fire. The investigation is ongoing.

RCMP investigates break, enter and theft

November 25, 2020, Upper Tantallon, Nova Scotia… Halifax District RCMP is investigating a break, enter and theft that occurred at a property in Upper Tantallon.

On November 23, suspect(s) broke into a detached garage on a property on Chokecherry Rd. and left with several items including a set of golf clubs, hockey gear, a circular saw, a reciprocating saw and a chop saw.

Assault with a weapon

At approximately 11:25am, police responded to a weapons call at 320 Lacewood Drive in Halifax, which is the Metro Transit bus terminal. Officers attended and it was learned that a men, not known to the victim at this time, sprayed him with a sensory irritant. During the incident a friend of the victim helped him flush his eyes. There was no further injury or injury to anyone else in the area.

The suspect was reported to have fled on foot towards the Canada Games Center where he entered a vehicle described as a Toyota or Nissan before fleeing the area.

The only description of the suspect was that he was a large male wearing black pants and a red hooded sweater.

This matter remains under investigation at this time.

Investigators in the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating an bank robbery that occurred in Halifax this evening

At 6:30 P.M. a man entered the Bank of Commerce located at 6429 Quinpool Rd in Halifax. The man demanded cash and indicated he had a weapon, although none was seen. The man obtained cash and fled the bank.

The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 6 feet tall, average build. He was wearing a blue hoodie, track pants and a blue mask carrying a bag.

November 19, 2020, Prospect Bay, Nova Scotia…  The RCMP/HRP Integrated General Investigation Section of the Criminal Investigation Division is asking the public’s help to solve an arson.

At approximately 3 a.m. on October 19, Halifax District RCMP responded to an alarm at a business on Prospect Bay Rd. Upon police arrival, the member noticed a fire in the business and was able to extinguish the fire. The business was damaged extensively and no one was inside at the time of the fire.

The investigation in ongoing.

Tomorrow marks the fourth anniversary of the murder of Terrance Patrick Izzard, and the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the case.

On November 14, 2016 at approximately 11 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of shots fired on Cragg Avenue in Halifax. Responding officers located Terrance suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The Medical Examiner later ruled Terrance’s death a homicide.

Investigators believe there are people who have information that could help solve Terrance’s murder. We hope that the passage of time encourages them to do the right thing and share what they know with police. It is never too late to come forward and the smallest piece of information may be just what is needed to progress the investigation into Terrance’s murder.

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating a potential Halloween candy tampering incident.

On November 11 at approximately 3:55 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a suspicious circumstance call at residence on Princess Margaret Boulevard in Dartmouth. A man reported that he felt unwell after eating a piece chocolate candy that tasted like soap. The candy is believed to have been given out in the Fairview area of Halifax on Halloween.

Police encourage parents and children to continue to check any candy gathered during trick-or-treating and to report any incidents of potential candy tampering to police.
