Between Sept.22 and Sept.24, 2018,  a scissor lift worth over 10,000.00 was stolen from Sackville Auto Pro, 123 Cobequid Road, Lower Sackville.

Digby RCMP investigating two arsons in Weymouth

 October 11, 2018, Weymouth, Digby County, Nova Scotia . . . Digby RCMP is investigating two arsons at a church on Weymouth Falls Rd. in Weymouth. On October 8, a suspect broke a window and tried to start a fire inside the church. It didn’t catch. They also spray painted graffiti on the parking lot of the church.

Early this morning, Digby RCMP responded to a fire at the same location, and in this instance, the church was heavily damaged. Weymouth Volunteer Fire Department was on scene attempting to get the fire under control when police arrived.

Digby RCMP is asking for public assistance with both of these investigations. Anyone who has information about either, or both incidents is asked to contact the RCMP at 902-245-2579. Police Investigate Robbery – Halifax

At 9:41 p.m., 11 October, Halifax Regional Police responded to a Robbery at Booster Juice, 278 Lacewood Drive Halifax.  A male wearing a mask and brandishing a knife entered the store demanding money.  The suspect left on foot with an undisclosed amount of currency in an unknown direction of travel.  No one was injured.  Patrol officers and members of the General Investigation Section searched the area, but, have not located the suspect.  The suspect is described as:

Suspect – White male, 20’s, 5’10”-6’0”, thin build, brown hair.
Wearing: Black mask, black jacket, blue jeans.
Weapon: Knife.

Police respond to a vehicle fire in Bedford

Police respond to a vehicle fire.  File 18-156993, West Division, 9:40 pm:

 

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating a suspicious vehicle fire that occurred last evening.

 

At 9:40 pm Police responded to a suspicious vehicle fire in the 100 block of Hammonds Plains Road in Bedford.

The unoccupied vehicle was fully engulfed once officers arrived.  Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency responded and extinguished the fire.

Witnesses describe observing a white male believed to be in his early twenties running from the scene.  The suspect is further described as approximately 5 feet 7 inches in height, having a medium build,  with short hair, wearing a black jacket, white shirt, black pants and sneakers

The suspect was last observed running into a pathway that leads towards Bedford Hills Drive.

Sailor’s Memorial Vandalized in Point Pleasant Park

October 8th, 2018, 0830 hrs.  Police File 18-156096

At 0830 hrs this morning Police were made aware of property damage committed to several historical sites within Point Pleasant Park in Halifax.  It is believed the damage was committed during the overnight hours.

Most disturbing was the Sailors’ Memorial being defaced with paint splattered over the panels containing the names of the fallen.  Anti-war slogans including the anarchy symbol were present.

Other structures and information signs within the park were also defaced.

It was not long before HRM staff and local residents  including veterans began removing the graffiti.

A call has been placed to 311, which will have additional staff and resources deployed tomorrow to remove any remaining graffiti.

The investigation is ongoing.

ATV Stolen from Poison Lake, Cumberland County

Sometime between September 12th, 2018 and September 16th, 2018 a Yellow 2014 Kawasaki Teryx 4 Side by Side was stolen from a secure garage at a cottage at  Poison Lake, Nova Scotia.

Thieves steal ATVs from Ship harbour and Glen Harbour

Thieves attracted to ATV’s

October 1, 2018, Lower Ship Harbour and Glen Harbour, Nova Scotia … Halifax District RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance with locating two stolen ATV’s.

A blue 2011 Kawasaki KRF-750 side-by-side was stolen from a property on the West Ship Harbour Rd. in Ship Harbour between September 16 and 30.

On September 30, an orange 2016 Can-Am Renegade 570CC ATV was stolen from the backyard of residence on Peggy’s Cove Road in Glen Margaret. The ATV has a 3500lb winch installed on the front with bright orange hand guards on the handle bars.

Stolen ATV from Kentville

Overnight between September 28-29, 2018 a 2009 Can AM Outlander was stolen from a garage on Park Street in Kentville.
someone broke a window to gain entry to the garage then pushed the ATV away to the rail bed trail.

Leslie Conrad homicide still on the minds of police

October 5, 2018, Kings County, Nova Scotia . . . Leslie Ann Conrad was last seen by her family on October 5, 2006. Leslie was 45 years old when she disappeared. Her remains were found by a hunter on November 22, 2006 near Melanson Rd. in Kings County, and the investigation determined that she died as a result of foul play.

An extensive investigation ensued, however, no criminal charges have ever been laid. Although unsolved at this time, officers from RCMP Southwest Nova Major Crimes Unit continue to work to solve this crime and remain committed to this investigation. “The last time we appealed to the public for information about Leslie’s murder, some individuals did come forward with information.” says Cst. Dayle Burris. “We’re hoping that there is still someone out there who can help us, and Leslie’s family, to bring some closure to this incident.”

Stolen ATV from Waycobah

RCMP: Four ATVs stolen in less than a week

October 2, 2018, Waycobah First Nation, Nova Scotia . . . On September 30, an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) was stolen from the front yard of a home on Subdivision Rd. in Waycobah. It is a 2017 Honda TRX Rubicon, it has camouflage fenders, and had NS licence plate JB716 attached. The theft occurred sometime during the previous evening.

This marks the fourth ATV reported stolen to the RCMP since this past weekend. Homeowners across Nova Scotia are asked to secure their belongings and report suspicious activity to police.
