RCMP charge two men and a woman with Attempted Murder

August 23, 2022, Bishopville, Nova Scotia…The Kings DistrictRCMP General Investigative Section has charged two men and a woman with attempted murder after a stabbing on Bishopville Rd. in Bishopville.

On August 16, at approximately 8:30 a.m., West Hants District RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing in Windsor. RCMP officers learned that a man had presented himself to the local hospital with injuries consistent with those of a stabbing.

The victim, a 26-year-old Windsor man, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and identified two suspects as having been involved in the stabbing. The investigation determined the incident was targeted in nature and occurred on Bishopville Rd. in Bishopville. RCMP investigators also determined that a third suspect had attempted to aid the two suspects involved in the stabbing.

Later that same day, RCMP officers arrested a 67-year-old Hantsport man outside a home on Riverview Rd. in Hantsport. A search warrant was subsequently executed on the home and RCMP officers seized firearms, ammunition and cleaning supplies. RCMP officers also seized the vehicle that was used during the stabbing. RCMP Forensic Identification Services executed a search warrant on the seized vehicle and conducted a forensic examination.

On August 18, at approximately 3 p.m., the Halifax District RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit and Criminal Intelligence Service of Nova Scotia located and arrested the two suspects, a 41-year-old Liverpool man and a 22-year-old Halifax woman, that were involved in the stabbing.

Eric Hubley, 41, Lexus Young, 22, and Arnold Clifton Messervey, 67, have been charged with:

• Attempt to Commit Murder;
• Aggravated Assault;
• Assault with a Weapon (two counts);
• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose;
• Uttering Threats;
• Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized;
• Contravention of Firearms Storage Regulations;
• Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order

Messervey is facing an additional charge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm. He was released on conditions and will appear in Kentville Provincial court on September 27, 2022, at 9:30 a.m.

Hubley is facing additional charges of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Failure to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order (2 counts). Both Hubley and Young have been remanded into custody. Young will appear in Kentville Provincial Court on August 25, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. Hubley will appear in Kentville Provincial Court on August 29, 2022, at 9:30 a.m.

August 22, 2022, North Preston, Nova Scotia… The RCMP/HRP Guns and Gangs Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a report of shots fired in North Preston.

Yesterday, at approximately 8 a.m., Halifax District RCMPresponded to a call regarding shots fired at a house on Willis Ln. in North Preston.

RCMP officers learned that a number of gun shots were heard sometime around 2 a.m. There were no injuries sustained in the incident; however, the house incurred damage consistent with bullet holes.

The investigation is ongoing and being assisted by the RCMP Forensic Identification Section.

Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in Halifax yesterday evening.

At approximately 8 p.m. police received a report that a robbery had occurred near St. Agnes Junior High School located at 6981 Mumford Road in Halifax. A group of approximately 10 youths approached two other youths who were walking by the school. The group targeted one victim by assaulting him and robbing him of money and property.

One of the suspects is described as a teenager with black hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black t-shirt and black shorts.

Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in Halifax early this morning.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. police received a report that a robbery had occurred at the Shell gas station located at 2616 Robie Street. A man entered the store, assaulted the employee and threatened to stab the employee with a needle. The man then fled on a bicycle with a quantity of cigarettes.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s and approximately 6’ tall. He was wearing a dark blue hoodie, dark coloured pants, a blue medical face mask and was carrying a bag.

Halifax District R.C.M.P. looking for assistance with information in relation to the Break and enter into residence along Prospect road in West Dover, N.S. sometime in the area of April 2022. Police investigate suspicious circumstances

Police are investigating suspicious circumstances that occurred this weekend.

On August 13, police received a report of suspicious circumstances in the area of Kearney Lake near Larry Uteck Boulevard. At approximately 8 p.m., a man approached four youths who were walking on a pathway in the area and asked them if they wanted to see his truck. The man was not known to the youths, and when they turned around and ran towards Larry Uteck Boulevard, the man followed them until they reached the street. He then turned and walked back along the pathway. The youths left the area and reported the incident to a trusted adult who contacted police.

The man is described as white, 30 to 40 years old, approximately 5’10”and 190 lbs. with dark buzzed-cut hair and facial stubble. The suspect was wearing a red and black hoodie and jeans and was carrying a black backpack.

Police are investigating a robbery that occurred last night in Dartmouth.

At approximately 9 p.m., police received a report that a robbery had occurred at the No Frills store at 118 Wyse Road. A man entered the store, concealed a number of items and brandished a knife when confronted by staff members. The man fled the store on foot with the items. No one was physically injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as a Black man in his mid-30s with a medium build and a groomed beard. He had red reading glasses and was wearing a black hoodie with red dots, dark blue pants and carrying a red and blue re-usable shopping bag.

Police Investigate Stolen Vehicle Collision – Halifax

At 9:00 p.m., on the 16th of August, Halifax Regional Police responded a report of a SUV striking a barrier and the male driver running from the vehicle in the Walmart parking lot, 220 Chain Lake Drive Halifax.

Police located the abandoned SUV with significant damage and confirmed the vehicle was stolen.  Officers quickly located the driver nearby inside another business in the 200 block of Chain Lake Drive and arrested the driver without incident.  A 21-year-old male from Halifax is held for court and is facing Theft and Possession of a Motor Vehicle and Breaching Probation.

RCMP investigating report of indecent act

August 15, 2022, Valley, Nova Scotia… Colchester County District RCMP is investigating a report of an indecent act that occurred near Salmon River Rd. in Valley.

Today, at approximately noon, Colchester County District RCMP responded to a report of a man exposing himself near Salmon River Rd. in Valley. RCMP officers learned that a man approached two children on a trail behind an elementary school on Salmon River Rd. and exposed himself. The children returned to their parents nearby and reported the incident to them. 

The man is described as being older, white, clean shaven with grey hair and a thin build. He was wearing a blue shirt and grey shorts.

RCMP officers and an RCMP police dog searched the area but didn’t locate the man.
