On August 18th 2024, DIGBY RCMP received a complaint of a black 2017 Friesen flat bed/dump trailer (NS plate#: T444626 was stolen from Langford Road, Riverdale, Digby County, NS sometime overnight. See attached photo of trailer.

On August 23rd  2024, Chester RCMP received a complaint of a white Heartland Prowler 29p BHS camper trailer that was stolen from a wooded lot on Canaan Road in Canaan, NS. The trailer was last seen by the owner on the lot at the end of June 2024.

Cape Breton Regional Police investigate tires being slashed.

On Saturday August 17th , 2024  at approximately 10 PM, Cape Breton Regional Police were dispatched to a report of tires being slashed at the North Sydney Exhibition Grounds, located at 105 Regent Street, North Sydney. Three tires on the vehicle were punctured between the hours of 7 PM and 10 PM. West Hants RCMP investigating reports of laser aimed at aircrafts

August 23, 2024, Windsor, Nova Scotia… West Hants RCMP is investigating multiple incidents of a green laser aimed at aircraft flying over West Hants.

Between August 16 and 23, West Hants RCMP Detachment received four separate reports of a green laser pointed towards aircraft in the early morning hours. The laser is believed to have been coming from the Three Mile Plains and Windsor areas.

The RCMP is reminding the public that aiming a laser at an aircraft is a criminal offence. Under the Aeronautics Act, any person convicted of intentionally interfering with an aircraft, by using a laser, could face a fine up to $100,000 in fines and/or up to five years in prison.

Police continue to investigate HRM bank card scam

Halifax Regional Police is continuing to investigate a financial crime scam that occurred in our region and are now requesting the public’s assistance identifying a second suspect who is believed to be involved.

On June 7, police issued a media release to warn citizens of a scam where a person received a call from someone pretending to be a bank employee. The scammer advises that the person’s credit cards have been cloned. They put pressure on the victim to act quickly otherwise they will not be reimbursed their funds. The victim is then transferred to a person pretending to be the bank employee’s supervisor who tells them they need to surrender their cards to an employee who will be attending the victim’s residence. A suspect shows up at their residence and seizes the cards before using the cards at various locations.

The second suspect is described as a woman, approximately 20-30 years of age, with long light brown hair.

CHARBEL was stolen from Rainbow Haven Beach parking area in Cow Bay, NS.

Police investigating shots fired in East Preston

August 20, 2024, East Preston, Nova Scotia… RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is investigating a report of shots fired in East Preston.

On August 19, at approximately 12:55 p.m., RCMP officers and HRP officers responded to a report of shots fired between two vehicles on Bell St. Officers located the scene of the incident after both vehicles fled from the area.

There were no reports of injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by the General Investigation Section of the RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.

Police investigate robbery

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a robbery that occurred in Halifax this morning.

At approximately 6 a.m., officers responded to a robbery that had occurred at Peoples Jewelry inside the Halifax Shopping Centre. A man broke into the store, stole merchandise, used a spray irritant on a security guard and fled the area in a white panel van with markings on it.

 The suspect is described as a white man approximately 5’8” tall with a large build. At the time of the incident his face was covered, and he was wearing a black shirt, black pants and black shoes.

Sometime between July 31st 2024 August 8th 2024, a Wolverine Side by Side was stolen from Upper
Clyde River out of Barrington.

Help Windsor RCMP solve Honda ATV theft

On August 13th 2024 between 0430 and 0600 hours, a red and black Honda ATV was stolen from Victoria St, Windsor. Two other dirt bikes were stolen but recovered (File#2024-1168252) and (File#2024-1169842). Note, a snowplow was on the front of the ATV.
