Sometime between April 15 and April 22, 2008 a large amount of batteries were stolen from a truck lot on the Harris Road near Pictou.
These were old batteries which were being stock piled for sale in Ontario.
The majority of the batteries were large truck batteries made by Cat and Volvo. Mixed in were various small car batteries.
In total there were 155 batteries taken.
One very large truck or several ½ ton truck loads would be required to hold this weight.
Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help solving a case of theft from a property on River John Road in Pictou County Nova Scotia.
On March 6th, 2008 Pictou County District RCMP received a call of theft of a Street and Trail Motorcycle and chainsaw. The theft occurred from a residence on the River John Road sometime between February 25th and March 6th, 2008.
Stolen items are described as a 2006 KLX 250 motorcycle lime green in color, and a Stihl Model 028 Chainsaw.
These items were taken from a garage on the property.

April 14, 2008 community of Carroll’s Corner – Residential B&E several thousand dollars worth of jewellery, tools, video games and movies stolen during day.
March 26, 2008 several cottages located on Killen Lane, off Higgins Lake Road, Elderbank were broken into, boat motor, generator, camping equipment and a firearm were stolen from the various properties. Possible suspect vehicle Dark mid size car seen on Higgins lake rd earlier that day.
May 2, 2008 Royal Canadian Legion on Caribou Rd, security bars on basement window were found cut and bent, no entry gained into building.
Sometime after midnight on December 3rd, 2007 a black 2003 Chevy Silverado NS Plate ECT359 was stolen from a driveway on Alice Street in Truro N.S.
The truck is described as a ¾ ton diesel, black in color, high suspension lift, black rims and black push bar on front.
Sometime overnight of Friday March 14th and 7am, Saturday, March 15th 2008, damage was done to 44 grave markers within Brookside Cemetery.
Damage is estimated to be in the thousands of dollars and investigators are appealing to the public for help in bringing the person or persons to justice.
On the evening of October 12, 2007 a lone male entered Lawton’s and went directly to the back of the stored and approached the pharmacist who was waiting on a client.
The suspect threw a bag on the counter and demanded that she fill it with Fentinel, the suspect then pulled out a large butcher knife with an 8” balde and stated “ I don’t want to hurt you.
The victim grabbed several drug items and gave them to the suspect.
The suspect fled the store and was last seen walking towards the Canadian Tire.
Suspect’s Description:
Caucasian male, 5’8”, with slim build and sandy blonde hair.
Sometime between Thursday March 13th, 2008 and Saturday March 15th, 2008 a break and enter occurred at the Youth Centre in Bear River Annapolis County.
Entry was gained threw a smashed window.
Stolen were a laptop computer, a Playstation PS2 and cash.
Between March 15th, 2008 and March 18th, 2008 a vacant house was broken into in Bear River, Annapolis County. The house was vandalized to an estimated amount of $50,000.
Sometime on Saturday afternoon/evening a residence was broken into on Mechanic Street, Springhill.
A sum of money was stolen.
Investigators have no suspects and need the public’s help in solving this case.
Sometime between Tuesday, February 19th and Saturday, February 26th, 2008, 57 bundles of shingles were stolen from outside a building site at Cornwallis Park, Annapolis County.
The shingles area described as Rampart, 25 year shingles two tones brown. The bundles were wrapped in brown paper with black and red lettering, 22 shingles in each bundle.
