Help police solve stolen Hyundai Tucson theft

On November 7th 2024, a 2022 Dark blue Hyundai Tuscon H-trak, bearing NS marker GTB 435, was stolen from the parking lot of the Best Western Glengarry Hotel in Truro at 21:05 hours.

The suspect, a light skinned male wearing a red sweater or jacket was observed getting into the vehicle and driving north on Willow Street.

Help West Hants RCMP solve theft of grey Camry

On Friday, November 8th, 2024 at 10:54am, West Hants RCMP received a report of a stolen motor vehicle from the complainant’s driveway between 1:30am and 10:45am on the above date. 

The vehicle is a grey 2009 Toyota Camry EXL, 4 door, NS Plate: CTT 342, with a CAA and Halloween sticker in the rear window of the car.    Below is a photograph of what a 2009 Toyota Camry EXL.  Below is an image of a similar car.

The Northeast Nova Major Crime unit investigating after human remains found

November 11, 2024, Greenhill, Nova Scotia… The RCMP Northeast Nova Major Crime unit (NEN MCU) is investigating after human remains were found in a burned vehicle on MacLean Rd. in Greenhill.

On November 9 at approximately 2:10 p.m., Pictou County District RCMP responded to a report of an abandoned burned vehicle on MacLean Rd. in Greenhill. Responding officers located human remains inside the vehicle. The circumstances around this incident are considered suspicious.

The ongoing investigation is led by the NEN MCU and supported by the Pictou County District RCMP, Southwest Nova Major Crime unit, RCMP Police Dog Services, RCMP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), the Office of the Fire Marshal and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service. There is no evidence at this time to suggest any risk to the public.

The investigation is in the initial stages and no further information is available at this time.

Case of Mischief being investigated by Cape Breton Regional Police

On Monday, November 11, 2024 at approximately 8:00 AM, Cape Breton Regional Police were dispatched to a report of windows being smashed out of a vehicle near the entrance to the Emera Centre, located at 175 King Street, North Sydney. Two windows of the vehicle were completely shattered between the hours of 9:00 AM on Sunday, November 10th, 2024 and 7:00 AM on Monday, November 11th, 2024 with a large rock which was located inside the vehicle. Man wanted on province-wide arrest warrant

November 8, 2024, Oxford, Nova Scotia… Cumberland County District RCMP is seeking information on the whereabouts of a man currently wanted on a province-wide arrest warrant.

Christopher Charles Mattinson, 33, from Oxford, is wanted and facing the following charges:

  • Unsafe Storage of a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Firearm When Knowing Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose (x2)
  • Possession of a Restricted Firearm/Prohibited Weapon with Ammo
  • Weapons Possession Contrary to Order and Fail to Surrender Authorization (x2)
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Flight from Police
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order (x2)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 (x2)

Mattinson is described as 6-foot-7, 190 lbs. He has dark brown hair and hazel eyes.

RCMP seeking information about mischief at BLT trail access points

November 5, 2024, Timberlea, Nova Scotia… RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is investigating mischief at controlled access points along the Beechville-Lakeside-Timberlea (BLT) trail system.

On November 3, at approximately 10:30 a.m., RCMP officers responded to a report of mischief on the BLT trail from Timberlea to Hubley. At this time, it’s believed that a total of ten gates preventing motorized access were vandalized sometime during the previous night. Damage is estimated in the thousands of dollars.

As the investigation continues, investigators are appealing to the public for information.

Man wanted on province-wide arrest warrant

November 4, 2024, Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia… RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is seeking information on the whereabouts of a man currently wanted on a province-wide arrest following an incident in Eastern Passage.

Nicholas Arthur Lees, 45, from the Halifax Regional Municipality, is wanted and facing charges of Failing to Comply with a Release Order (two counts).

Lees is described as 6-foot, 200 lbs. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

Police have made several attempts to locate Lees, and are requesting assistance from the public.

Police investigate weapons incident

Halifax Regional Police is investigating an incident where a man was sprayed with a sensory irritant in Bedford last week.

On November 1, at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a weapons call in the 0-10 block of Lake Drive. Officers located a 65-year-old man who had been sprayed with a sensory irritant. The victim was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male youth, approximately 15 to 17-years-old, and approximately 5’10” tall.  At the time of the incident, he was wearing all black clothing, a black hat, a black cross-body bag, and his face was covered.
