RCMP requests public assistance to identify person of interest

October 12, 2017, Lower Truro, Nova Scotia . . . Colchester District RCMP is asking for help from the public to help solve a theft of tools from a store in Lower Truro. At approximately noon on October 11, a man entered the store and left without paying for the following items:

• 12V Dewalt cordless drill
• 20V Dewalt cordless drill
• 20V Dewalt Impact drill
• 20V Dewalt High Torque Impact drill

The value of the items stolen is approximately $1200.

RCMP requests assistance to locate stolen tractor

October 11, 2017, Truro Heights, Nova Scotia . . . In the overnight hours between October 7 and 8, a 2005 Kioti farm tractor was stolen from behind the garage of a residence on Truro Heights Rd. The tractor is orange, has LED lights on the roof, and forklift-style forks on the front. The forks on the front of the tractor were recently painted bright orange.

RCMP investigates two suspicious fires on fishing vessels

October 10, 2017, Southwestern Nova Scotia . . . RCMP detachments in southwestern Nova Scotia are investigating two fires on fishing boats that are believed to have been intentionally set.

• On October 5 at 7:44 a.m., a fire was reported aboard the Amanda’s Pride 1. The vessel had been docked at the slip in Weymouth North. Initial investigation has determined that the suspect(s) put something in the engine hatch which caused the fire. The vessel sustained damage to the interior. Digby RCMP is leading the investigation into this incident.
• On October 9 at 12:50 p.m., the Buck and Doe was reported missing from the Comeauville Wharf in Comeauville, Digby County. The vessel was later located in St. Mary’s Bay, where it sunk before it could be towed back to the wharf. Investigators located the lines that had been used to tie the vessel to the wharf, which had evidence of fire damage. A witness reported they saw the vessel burning in St. Mary’s Bay. Meteghan RCMP is leading the investigation into this incident.

October 19, 2017, Brookfield, Nova Scotia … Colchester County District RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance to solve a break and enter from a home in the village of Brookfield.

The incident occurred yesterday between 11:10 and 11:30 a.m. and a quantity of jewelry was stolen. A white male with a moustache, approximately 6-foot tall was seen leaving the property. He was wearing a brown jacket and a red and black baseball hat.

RCMP requests public assistance to locate stolen power tools

October 18, 2017, Masstown, Nova Scotia … Colchester County District RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance to locate multiple stolen power tools.

The thefts occurred sometime between the hours of midnight on October 6 and 8 a.m. on October 10 at a construction site across from the Masstown Market in Masstown. The thieves entered two storage trailers that were parked on the site and left with a large quantity of power tools valued in excess of $5,000.

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating an armed robbery that occurred earlier this month in Dartmouth.

Just before 9:30 a.m. on September 7, officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Kabayan Food Mart located at 172 Wyse Road. A man entered the store and asked the employee if he could use the washroom in the rear of the store. When the man returned to the front of the store, he went behind the counter with a knife and demanded money. He grabbed the cash register and was last seen leaving on foot towards Green Road. The employee was not injured and the cash register was located behind the store.

The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 6’, medium build with grey hair and facial scruff. He was wearing a blue Helly Hanson jacket with orange trim, beige pants with paint stains, brown boots or shoes and a baseball hat, and carrying a multi-coloured backpack.

Crime Stoppers needs the public’s help in solving a case of robbery which happened in Halifax NS.

On August 3^rd, 2017 shortly before midnight, police were called to a street level Robbery in the North end of Halifax near the Hydrostone. A male was walking home when he was approached by three younger males (late teens or early twenties). One male walked up to the victim and confronted him, demanding money. The victim refused and was then punched by the male suspect, knocking him to the ground. The victim was unable to provide a detailed description of the suspects other then to say the male who struck him was approximately 6 feet tall and was a lighter skinned black male. He is unsure where the other two males were when he was attacked. A good Samaritan then came to his aid and called 911

Between Friday afternoon Sept. 1st and Monday morning Sept. 4th Dept. of Infrastructure and renewal’s compound in Spry Bay(2041 Highway 7) was broken into. The suspect(s) gained access into a service truck and stole the following items:

On June 27 th at approximately 1027 hrs a residence was broken into in Truro N.S. the male and
female suspects stole jewelry valued at $50000.00
The home owner had video surveillance and was able to capture the suspects on camera. No video
surveillance from inside the residence. Suspects had gone to another property nearby and knocked
on the door and asked the home owner if their home was for sale, most likely just checking to see if
anyone was home before they committed a break and enter.
Pictured below are the two suspects, who are now believed to be travelling criminals.
