At approximately 6:00pm, staff at the Superstore, located at 3601 Joseph Howe Drive, were made aware of a small fire in a grocery aisle inside the store. HRM Fire arrived and quickly extinguished the fire while the store was being evacuated. Fire officials determined that the fire appeared to have been intentionally set and was determined to be an Arson. Subsequent investigation by Halifax Regional Police identified an individual who may have been responsible.
The suspect is described as a white male, late 40’s or early 50’s, grey hair with goatee. He was wearing eyeglasses with thick rims, a blue puffy style waist length coat, jeans and a blue ball cap.
