May 27, 2022, Middleton, Nova Scotia…Annapolis District RCMP is seeking public assistance in a break-in investigation in Middleton.

On April 30, 2022, Annapolis District RCMP responded to a report of a break-in to a shed on Marshall St. in Middleton. RCMP investigators learned that a number of items were stolen including chainsaws, gas powered trimmers and were stolen from the shed. The cost of the theft has been valued at over $20,000.

Over the last 4 weeks, RCMP investigators have continued to gather evidence and information on this incident. Investigators are now seeking assistance from the public to further the investigation.

Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in Halifax last night.

At approximately 11:45 p.m. police responded to a robbery at the Needs Convenience Store located at 6130 Chebucto Rd.  A man entered the store, showed the employees what appeared to be a firearm, demanded money and then fled the area on foot with a quantity of cash and cigarettes.

The suspect is described as white, with a medium build wearing black shoes, gray shorts, black shirt, black jacket, red baseball cap, grey mask and gloves.

May 25, 2022, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia… Halifax District RCMP is investigating a break and enter involving a theft of firearms in Lower Sackville.

On May 24, at 8:19 a.m., officers responded to a report of a break-in at a home on Sami Dr. Officers learned that a safe containing five handguns was stolen. It included a:

• Ruger model 57
• Glock model 17 Gen5
• Glock model 19 Gen4
• Glock model 22
• Rock Island Armory model M1911A1Fs

RCMP believe the suspect gained access to the home through the back door sometime between May 19 and May 24.

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by the Halifax District RCMP, with assistance from the RCMP Forensic Identification Section.

May 25, 2022, Upper LaHave, Nova Scotia…Lunenburg District RCMP is investigating the theft of a truck from a property in Upper LaHave.

Sometime between 6:00 p.m. on May 23 and 10:00 a.m. on May 24, a 2005 Toyota Tundra was stolen from the driveway of a residence located on Hwy. 332.

The black 4 door truck, with Nova Scotia license plate ABN46, has a wooden frame and the name “Ron” stenciled on the driver’s door. The vehicle identification number is 5TBDT48135S499838.

The Tundra was last seen in the Colchester area yesterday morning.

On May 22, at approximately 3:20 a.m. police responded to an intrusion alarm at Leonardo’s Convenience Store at 95 Caledonia Road. A man had broken into the store, stolen merchandise and then fled the area on foot.

The suspect is described as white and was wearing a grey mask, black jacket with a hood and blue gloves.

May 19, 2022, Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia…Halifax District RCMPis investigating multiple thefts from residential construction sites in Hammonds Plains.

On May 18, Halifax District RCMP responded to a theft at a residential construction site on Hammonds Plains Rd. in Hammonds Plains. Officers learned that a metal break tool used to bend aluminum was taken from the property under renovation. The tool, valued at $3,600, was secured outdoors with a chain at the front of the property. The Belfor brand tool is chrome and red in colour and has a unique serial number.   

On May 12, Halifax District RCMP received a reports of a theft from an enclosed trailer and break ins at multiple homes under construction on Voyageur Way in Hammonds Plains. Officers learned that the suspect(s) took numerous power tools, from a secure enclosed trailer, three pallets of flooring and other various construction materials stored in the homes. The cost of the items stolen is estimated to be over $20,000.

Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in Halifax early this morning.

At approximately 1:45 a.m. officers responded to a robbery that had just occurred in the area of Cavendish Road. A man presented a gun and demanded cash and property from a delivery driver. The man obtained a quantity of cash and other property. The driver was not physically injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as white, with a heavy build, approximately 5’10” tall with dark hair and facial hair. He was wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident.

Victim identified in yesterday’s homicide

Police are providing an update on the investigation into the death of a woman that occurred yesterday in the area of Sylvia Avenue in Halifax and are releasing the victim’s name.

On May 17 at approximately 12:45 a.m. police responded to a report of an injured person in the area of Sylvia Avenue and Herring Cove Road. Officers located a 37-year-old woman who had been stabbed. She was taken to the hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries.

The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service conducted an autopsy and has ruled the manner of death to be a homicide. The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Chauntel Lizette MacIntyre. Our thoughts are with Chauntel’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Police are investigating a homicide that occurred in Halifax early this morning.

At approximately 12:45 a.m. police responded to a report of an injured person in the area of Sylvia Avenue and Herring Cove Road. Officers located a 37-year-old woman who had been stabbed. She was taken to the hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries.

Herring Cove Road has reopened to traffic. Members from the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, Forensic Identification Section and Patrol remain on scene. The investigation is in the early stages and further details will be provided when they become available.

At approximately 12:45 a.m. police responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of Sylvia Ave/ Herring Cove Rd., Halifax. Patrol members located a single victim who had been stabbed. The victim was transported to hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries.

Police remain on scene in the area. Investigators do not believe that this is a random incident. This matter is in the early stages of the investigation and limited details are available at this time.

On May 15 at approximately 2:20 a.m. police responded to a report of a suspicious person in a residence in the 1600 block of Edward Street. A man entered a residence through an unlocked door and was walking around the residence. The man left the area on foot after being confronted by the resident.

The man is described as white, in his fifties with a heavy build and was wearing a grey hooded sweater.

Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in Dartmouth last night.

At approximately 9:50 p.m. police responded to a robbery that occurred at the Sobeys at 210 Wyse Road. A man with a hammer entered the store and demanded money from an employee. The man fled the area on foot with a quantity of cash. The employee was not physically injured.

The suspect is described as a white man, in his thirties to forties, approximately 6′ tall, 170 lbs. He was wearing a black balaclava, a black baseball hat, a black winter coat and jeans.
