Police continue to investigate the disappearance of Bruce Andrew Forbes

Tomorrow marks the 20th anniversary of the disappearance of Bruce Andrew Forbes and investigators in the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continue to investigate the case.

On July 17, 2002, police received a report that Bruce had not been seen since July 16, 2002. Bruce was 37 years old at the time of his disappearance and was residing on Lansdowne Drive in Halifax.

The police investigation revealed that Bruce was last seen in Halifax on July 16, 2002, at a Regent Road residence. The circumstances of his disappearance are suspicious and foul play is suspected.

Investigators believe that there are people who have information that could help solve Bruce’s disappearance. We hope that the passage of time will encourage them to do the right thing and come forward with what they know. It is never too late to come forward and the smallest piece of information may be just what is needed to progress the investigation.

Investigators ask anyone with information about Bruce’s disappearance to contact police at 902-490-5016.

Help Truro Police find Honda Ridgeline owner

The Truro Police Service is requesting assistance in identifying the owner of this Honda Ridgeline truck. 

On July 11, 2022, at approximately 5pm, Truro Police responded to a report where a collision occurred between two vehicles near the 900 block of Truro. The owner/operator of the Honda Ridgeline left the area without being identified. The collision occurred at approximately 2:40pm, on this date.

The investigation is ongoing, and police need your assistance in identifying the person who was driving.

Cole Harbour RCMP looking to identify Male and Female

Halifax District RCMP request assistance in identifying man and woman

July 12, 2022, Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia…Halifax District RCMP is asking the public’s assistance to identify a man and a woman who are persons of interest in relation to a theft from the Wal Mart on Cole Harbour Rd. in Cole Harbour.

On July 11, 2022, at approximately noon, Halifax District RCMP responded to a report of a theft from a department store on Cole Harbour Rd. in Cole Harbour. RCMP officers learned that a man and a woman, stole Nintendo consoles and video games from a locked display case. The theft is valued at approximately $5,000.

The man was wearing dark coloured camouflage shorts and T-shirt with a dark hat.

The woman was wearing black shorts with a black Nike zip up hoody.

The investigation is ongoing.

Help police solve disappearance of Jessie Morrisey

RCMP appealing for information to advance investigation into suspicious disappearance of Jessie Morrissey

July 13, 2022, Springhill, Nova Scotia… On February 14, 2022, Jessie Morrissey was reported missing. He was last seen near snowmobile Trail 104 in Leamington on February 13 at 9:30 p.m. Morrissey has not been seen or heard from since.

Cumberland County District RCMP believes people have information that may lead to finding out more about the circumstances of Morrissey’s disappearance.

“We have collected some valuable information and evidence but there are still many gaps. We’re convinced there are people who have information critical to closing those gaps and advancing the investigation,” says S/Sgt. Craig Learning, Cumberland County District RCMP Commander. “Our plea is for individuals who may have new information or who know something more than what they have already told us to come forward.”

Cumberland County District RCMP has so far led multiple days of ground and air searches with assistance from local Ground Search and Rescue Teams, RCMP Police Dog Services and Air Services; interviewed more than 40 people with assistance from the RCMP’s Interview Assistance Team and Northeast Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit; and executed Record Access Orders and Search Warrants to collect evidence.

Each time information or a tip is received, investigators follow up to find out more about the circumstances of Morrissey’s disappearance.

Police investigate Halifax robberies

Police are investigating three robberies that occurred in Halifax yesterday.

At approximately 2:35 p.m. officers responded to a robbery in the area of Percy and Andrew streets. Two men approached another man who was not known to them and demanded his money and property. The suspects fled the area on foot with an amount of cash. The victim was not physically injured.

The first suspect is described as 5”6” tall, in his twenties with straight black hair and wearing a dark-coloured shirt and shorts. The second suspect is described as 5’6” tall, in his twenties, approximately 150 lbs. with straight brown hair and tattoos on his face and both arms.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. officers responded to a robbery on a walking path in the area of the Mainland Commons near Gristmill Court. A man with a knife approached another man who was not known to him and demanded his money and property. The victim fled the area and the suspect did not get his property. The victim was not physically injured.

The suspect is described as a white man in his twenties or thirties, approximately 5’9” tall with short blonde/brown hair.

At approximately 11:25 p.m. officers responded to a robbery in the area of the Halifax Transit Terminal on Mumford Road. A man approached another man who was not known to him, assaulted him and attempted to take his property. The suspect fled the area on foot empty-handed. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The suspect is described as a white man in his twenties or thirties, approximately 5’6” tall and wearing a black hooded sweater and pants.

Police investigate indecent acts

Police are investigating a number of indecent acts that occurred over the last two months in Halifax.

On June 28 police received a report that at approximately 1:30 a.m., and again at 2:30 a.m., a man had committed indecent acts while on the waterfront in the area of the 1700 block of Lower Water Street. Both times, the man fled the area on foot. It was reported that the same man had committed indecent acts on a number of occasions over the last two months.

The man is described as white and in his forties with a medium build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue shirt and black pants and was carrying a black backpack.

Police are investigating suspicious circumstances that occurred in Mic Mac Mall this weekend

Police are investigating suspicious circumstances that occurred in Dartmouth this weekend.

On July 9 at approximately 2:45 p.m. police responded to a report of suspicious circumstances at Mic Mac Mall at 21 Micmac Boulevard. Mall security received reports that a man appeared to be taking photos of women without their knowledge and attempting to touch them in a sexual manner. The man fled the mall when he was approached by security officers and left the area in a vehicle.

The man is described as white, in his twenties, approximately 5’8” tall with a thin build and dark hair in a ponytail. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black shirt with text on the front, black pants and a green baseball cap. The man was driving a newer model red Hyundai Elantra hatchback with no license plate.

Investigators are asking the people who reported the matter to mall security, anyone who was approached by the man or anyone with information in relation to this incident to call police at 902-490-5020.
