Help Police Solve Mosquodoboit vehicle thefts

Meteghan RCMP investigate stolen trailer

Meteghan RCMP received a report of the stolen trailer from a business located in Comeauville.  The theft occurred in the early hours on July 22, 2023. The trailer is a 2007 Roadmaster, Black in colour.

18 Foot Fibreglass boat stolen from Comeauville

Meteghan RCMP received a report of a theft of a 18 foot fiberglass boat with a 40 HP Honda outboard motor located in Comeauville. The theft occurred in the early hours on July 22, 2023. The boat was not on a trailer.

Police investigate three robberies

Halifax Regional Police is investigating three robberies that occurred in the Halifax region over the weekend.

On July 22 at approximately 8 a.m. officers responded to a robbery at the Irving gas station located at 612 Windmill Road in Dartmouth. A man entered the store, produced a knife and demanded cash and cigarettes from the clerk. The suspect fled the area on foot with an amount of cash and cigarettes. The clerk was not physically injured.

On July 22 at approximately 6:55 p.m. officers responded to a robbery at the Irving gas station located at 503 Old Sambro Road in Halifax. A man entered the store, produced a knife and demanded cash and cigarettes from the clerk. The suspect then fled empty-handed in a light green vehicle driven by a woman. The clerk was not physically injured.

A short time later at approximately 7:30 p.m. officers responded to a robbery at Danielson’s General Store located at 5 Dentith Road in Halifax. A man approached the clerk, produced a knife and demanded cash and cigarettes. The suspect fled the area with a quantity of cigarettes. The clerk was not physically injured.

The suspect is described as a white man in his twenties or thirties, approximately 5’8” tall, scruffy facial hair with a tattoo on the left side of his face below his eye. He was wearing a black hoody and jeans.

Police investigate sexual assault

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a sexual assault and a suspicious circumstances incident that occurred in Bedford this month.

On July 19, police received a report of a sexual assault that had occurred on July 12. At approximately 10 a.m. a man walking in the area of Tilbury Lane and Innsbrook Way approached a woman who was not known to him and spoke to her. He then touched her in a sexual manner before fleeing the area on foot.

On July 18 at approximately 8:10 p.m. a suspicious circumstances incident occurred in the same area. A man approached a female youth who was not known to him and tried to start a conversation. The youth quickly left the area and reported the incident to a trusted adult who contacted police. The suspect description is similar to the suspect description in the sexual assault and police are exploring the possibility that the same suspect is responsible for both incidents.

The suspect is described as in his early 20s, approximately 5’8″ tall, slim build, clean shaven, short dark wavy hair, wearing a blue t-shirt and pants and carrying a black backpack.

Man wanted on province-wide arrest warrant

July 19, 2023, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia… Halifax District RCMP has obtained a warrant for the arrest of a man charged in a sexual assault in Lower Sackville; the incident took place earlier this month.

Scott Lee Gray, 48, from Upper Hammonds Plains, is charged with Sexual Assault and Failure to Comply with a Release Order (four counts).

Police have made several attempts to locate Gray, and are requesting assistance from the public.

Police investigate suspicious circumstance

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a suspicious circumstance that occurred in Dartmouth on the weekend.

On July 16 at approximately 5 a.m. a man was seen looking in the window of a residence in the 0-100 block of Woodland Avenue. When the resident approached the window, he fled to vehicle that was waiting nearby and the vehicle then fled the area.

The suspect is described as stocky and wearing a shiny baseball hat. The vehicle is described as a newer model red Mitsubishi Eclipse.

Police encourage anyone who witnesses suspicious circumstances in their neighbourhood to contact police.

Police investigate assault

Halifax Regional Police is investigating an assault that occurred in Halifax earlier this month and is releasing a photo of the suspect.

On July 8 at approximately 2:45 a.m., police responded to a report of an assault that had occurred a short time earlier in the area of Sackville and Market streets. An altercation occurred between two groups of people who were not known to each other. A man from one group cut a man from the other group with a knife and then fled the area on foot. EHS treated the victim at the scene.

The suspect is described as a white man in his thirties, approximately 5’10” tall, medium build, brown/blonde hair with a receding hairline, full beard, wearing a black and gold floral shirt and gray shorts.

Police asking for the public’s assistance in homicide investigation

July 17, 2023, Middle Sackville, Nova Scotia… RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is asking for the public’s assistance in relation to a homicide investigation in Middle Sackville.

On July 3, at approximately 9:10 p.m., Halifax District RCMP, fire and EHS responded to a report of a man with life threatening injuries at a home on Sackville Dr. in Middle Sackville. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene and the death has been ruled a homicide by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office.

The victim has been identified as 71-year-old Noel Fredericks of Middle Sackville.

At this time, investigators are seeking information in relation to the identity of a woman, driving a maroon coloured vehicle, who is believed to have attended the victim’s business, Noel Fredericks Auto, located at 1250 Sackville Dr., on July 3 at approximately 6 p.m.

Officers are also looking to speak with anyone who may have been in the area, that same day, and may have dashcam footage.

The investigation is ongoing, being led by Homicide Investigations in the Special Investigations Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division and is being assisted by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office, RCMP Forensic Identification Services and Halifax District RCMP.

Police release photos of suspect involved in scam targeting seniors

Police are advising citizens to be cautious of a scam that targets seniors that is continuing to occur throughout our region and are releasing photos of a suspect.

On July 12, a person received a call from someone pretending to be a family member who indicated that they have been arrested and were in jail. Another person representing themselves to be from the legal system became involved in the call and informed the victim that they need to pay money to have their loved one released from custody. The suspect arranged to pick up the money in person.

The suspect is described as a Black man with a medium build who was wearing blue pants, black shoes and an orange and black Columbia jacket with a yellow hood.
