RCMP investigate break and enter to business, firearms stolen

June 28, 2024, Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia… Five firearms have been recovered and four are missing after a break and enter into a business in Whycocomagh.

On June 26, just before midnight, Inverness County District RCMP responded to an intrusion alarm at a business in the 9000-block of Hwy. 105.

Officers attended and confirmed that the business had been broken into and multiple firearms and ammunition had been stolen.

With the assistance of RCMP Police Dog Services, officers searched the area and were able to recover five firearms and some ammunition. Four firearms are still believed to be missing.

The initial investigation has identified two people of interest and Inverness County District RCMP is requesting the public’s help in identifying them.

The first is described as a man with wavy, long, dark-coloured hair, and glasses. He was wearing a red hoodie, and grey or camouflage pants.

The second is described as a man, approximately 5-foot-8. He was wearing a black sweater and grey pants.

Inverness County District RCMP continue to investigate, with the assistance of the RCMP’s Forensic Identification Section.

RCMP investigating after homicide victim’s cemetery monument vandalized

June 28, 2024, Comeauville, Nova Scotia… Meteghan RCMP Detachment is investigating after a cemetery monument for homicide victim Vernon Doucet was vandalized.

The Southwest Nova Major Crime Unit recently announced charges being laid in the homicide of Doucet, who died in hospital after being injured in a home invasion in February 2022.

On June 26, RCMP officers learned that a stone monument to Doucet had been removed from its location in the cemetery and spray painted.

It’s believed that this incident is related to the recent announcement of charges.

Meteghan RCMP Detachment is investigating, with the assistance of the RCMP’s Forensic Identification Section.

Help Truro Police solve truck theft

On the 25th day of June, 2024 a white 2017 Ford F250 was stolen from Lower Truro Road, Truro, Nova Scotia at 0350 hours. Nova Scotia plate was GNE 165.

Please help police identify thief in Fall River burglary

On June 21st, 2024 a male committed a break and enter into a Lower Sackville home and stole a 40’’ Samsung TV and a cable box before driving away at a high rate of speed in a white Hyundai Santa Fe toward Enfield. Here is a photo of the thief and his car:

Help Antigonish RCMP solve vandalisms to cars

Sometime on June 18th between hours of 10 pm and 7 Am June 19th, vehicles vandalized on Hwy 4 Havre Boucher and Cape Jack Road.  4 vehicles in total all tires flatten and black spray paint covering vehicles. Ford F350 Stolen in Brookfield

On 2024-06-15 Bible Hill RCMP received a complaint of a stolen red 2007 Ford F350 NS license plate 46298D. The vehicle was stolen from Pleasant Valley Road in Brookfield, NS at approximately 3:30 AM.  The vehicle has 2 1000L totes on the back and a yellow commercial licence plate on the front.

Police investigate Dartmouth stabbing

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a stabbing that occurred last night in Dartmouth.

At approximately 8 p.m. police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 0-100 block of Alderney Drive. Police located a man who had been stabbed. A group of youths approached two men who were walking in the area. One of the youths cut one of the men with a knife and then the group fled on foot.

The victim was transported to hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect with the knife is described as a white female, 15 to 17 years-old with blonde hair, wearing black tights and a black shirt.

RCMP seeks public’s help in investigating a fatal bicycle incident in Annapolis area

June 19, 2024, Tupperville, Nova Scotia… Annapolis County District RCMP is seeking the public’s help with investigating a fatal incident involving a gas-powered bicycle.

On June 17, Annapolis County District RCMP learned that a 71-year-old man from Annapolis Royal had been taken to Halifax by Lifeflight for treatment of serious injuries.

It was believed he may have fallen from a gas-powered bicycle while riding on Hwy. 201, around 2:00 p.m. the same day.

On June 18, officers learned the man had died in hospital as a result of his injuries.

Annapolis County District RCMP is looking to speak with people who may have witnessed the incident.

Additionally, the gas-powered bicycle has not been recovered.
