Break Enter & Theft

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in solving a break enter and theft which took place in Dartmouth NS.

On May11, 2015 at 4:51:25 AM, a Break & Enter took place at the  Smokes Shop, on Portland Street, Dartmouth, NS.  The suspect is captured on security video wearing a mask (bandanna over mouth) and gloves.  Suspect enters business at 4:51:25 AM by forcing door lock and smashing the wooden counter door and then leaves the same way at 04:52:33 AM.  The suspect removed boxes of cigarettes and cigars valued at over $3,000. He left in an unknown direction.

Suspect –   White Male, approximately 5’11”, thin build, Wearing: Dark blue jeans with design on back. pockets, Black hooded jacket with hood up, unknown logo on right arm, black gloves, dark ball hat with design on brim, black & grey sneakers.

( Solved ) Suspicious Fires Cumberland County

 

Crime Stoppers and Amherst Detachment of the R.C.M.P. are asking for the Public’s help in solving the following cases of Arson.

On Tuesday, May 5th, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Cumberland District RCMP along with Fire Departments from Joggins, River Hebert, Amherst, Springhill, Parrsboro, Advocate, Port Greville, Oxford, Southampton, Leicester, Shinimicas, Truemanville and Fox River / Port Greville/ Wards Brook responded to four structure fires on Pit Road in Joggins. As emergency personnel were responding to these fires, a fifth fire was detected at the Masonic lodge building on Highway 242 in Joggins.  As a result of the proximity to the lodge, the Baptist church caught fire and sustained smoke and water damage.  In total five structures were completely destroyed. All of the destroyed structures were unoccupied. Fire investigators deemed these fires as suspicious. The investigation into the cause of the fires is continuing.

Theft on McNabs Island

Crime Stoppers is asking for assistance in solving a theft which occurred on McNabs Island.

On or about May 1st, 2015, suspects travelled to McNabs Island and removed 2 large solar panels, controller, battery and associated hardware from the on-site composting toilet.  These items were special-order from the United States and valued at approximately $3,000.”

There would have had to be at least 2+ suspects, as the solar panels are 5 ft long x 2 feet wide – and they would require a boat to travel to/from the island.

Robbery

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in solving a robbery which took place in Halifax on Sunday January 18, 2015.

The victim was walking home, as they approached Rice residence on Tower Road, she saw 4 males standing on the side walk. The victim continued walking past them and then heard footsteps behind her. The victim began to walk faster when suddenly she was pushed from behind.  An Arabic male, then pushed her up against a brick wall and began yelling at her in Arabic. Then the male screamed “Wallet” at her and held her against the wall while the other males, grabbed her purse and took a quantity of cash. The male then tried to take her phone but they didn’t find it. The male then pushed the victim down and all four fled down Tower Road in the direction of Point pleasant park.

The victim was only able to provide a good description of the male that held her against the wall and took her purse form her.

The male was described as dark skinned of middle eastern descent, around 5’8″ or 5’9″, medium build

Theft from Motor Vehicles

Crime Stoppers and the RCMP are seeking the public’s help in relation to several thefts from motor vehicles that occurred in the Kingswood area over night May 10 into the morning of May 11, 2015.

Between the period of May 10 and May 11 Tantallon RCMP and Halifax Regional Police received several reports of theft from motor vehicles in the Kingswood area. One witness described the possible suspect vehicle as a older model dark car.  Anyone with information pertaining to these thefts please call RCMP.

Arson

On April 6th 2014 a hunting camp was burned to the ground, it was a hunting camp of a CF Veteran that had many of his items from the War.

This is a remote area in Upper Musquodoboit where the camp is, the fire is believed to be an arson but we have had no solid evidence to proceed with charges.  The fire occurred sometime over the evening or April 5th to 6th.

Theft of Copper Pipe

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in solving a case of theft of Copper Pipe.

Sometime between March 31st and April 7th 2015  person (s) entered  a vacant residence on Hwy 224 in Middle Musquodoboit and stole a quantity of copper pipe from the basement.

Break Enter & Theft Porters Lake

There was a break and enter from the garage at 62 Founders Court in Porters Lake between March 26th and 28th. This is a show home for the new Seven Lakes development.

Stolen is the following:

  1. Leather living room set (sofa, loveseat, and chair)
  2. Large wooden coffee table
  3. Area rug
  4. Wooden dining room table
  5. Six wooden leather backed dining chairs
  6. King cross cut saw
  7. Pam flooring screw gun and Milwaukee drill
  8. Sheet metal break
  9. Spare 18″ tire and rim for an F150
  10. 2 Pasload 3 1/2″ framing nailers
  11. Blue 15ft extension cord
  12. Environmental One (E-One) septic grinder pump.

Photos of the dining/living room set and the septic pump are attached. The $2000 pump is very unique and only available through Sansom Equipment in Truro.

Cumberland County Crimes

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s assistance in solving the following crimes which have occurred in Cumberland County NS

Over the past two weeks the Parrsboro RCMP have received some complaints regarding stolen heating oil in the Advocate Harbour area. The thefts have dollar values up over $2,000.00 at this point. Theft of this nature includes the possible crimes break and enter, theft of property, possession of stolen property, trespassing and trespass at night as it is suspected to have happened between 1 and 7 am during the incidents.

Suspicious Fire Moosehead Hfx Co NS

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in solving a suspicious house fire in Moosehead Halifax Co, NS.

On the morning of 2015-03-08 a vacant home on highway #7 in the community of Moosehead N.S. was destroyed by fire. The fire was discovered by two men passing by in a vehicle. They then alerted a neighbor who called 911. The identity of these men is unknown.
