Did you see who tried to move the SUV?

September 2, 2018, Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia . . . At 2:19 p.m. on September 1, someone attempted to move a Toyota Rav4 from its parking spot near the gift shop at Peggy’s Cove. The person who tried to move the vehicle wasn’t successful, and they appear to have left the SUV in neutral before leaving the vehicle. He is described as a man in his forties with black hair. It was parked on a slight incline, and it began to roll. It knocked one woman down and ran over her hand, then pushed another woman against a large rock. Neither woman suffered serious injuries but both were transported to hospital via EHS. The man is described as being in his forties with black hair.

Halifax District RCMP is continuing its investigation into this incident. They are attempting to find out who tried to move the SUV. This person was not the owner of the vehicle, just a bystander who attempted to move it out of the way as it was blocking traffic. Police Continue to Investigate the 2016 Murder of Rickey Walker

 

Tomorrow will mark the second anniversary of the murder of Rickey Walker, and the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the case.

At approximately 2:50 a.m. on September 1, 2016, 48-year-old Rickey Walker was located in medical distress behind John McNeil Elementary School at 62 Leaman Drive in Dartmouth. He was subsequently transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. An autopsy confirmed Rickey’s death as a homicide.

Investigators believe there are people who have information that could help solve his murder, and hope that the passage of time encourages someone to do the right thing and come forward with what they know. Theft of Trailer

Crime stoppers is asking for the public’s help in locating and apprehending the person or persons responsible for the theft of a trailer from White’s Lake Nova Scotia on July 19th, 2018.

The trailer is described as a 32 foot Coachman, model  Catalina, 2017, Gray/truffle-light in color, NSL T386330.  Serial 5Z2TCAXB9HT0009382.

Another ATV stolen in Hants County

Overnight on August 26th, 2018, a 2013 White Kawasaki Teryx 750 bearing NS licence plate GR635 was stolen from Kennetcook area of East Hants. The side by side has new tires, installed two weeks ago.

Yamaha Raptor ATV Stolen in Windsor area

Sometime between August 16, 2018 at 09:00 hours and August 17th at 17:00 hours, unknown suspects stole a black 2015 Yamaha Raptor 700 Special Edition ATV. The ATV was parked behind a residence in the 900 block of Windsor Back Road, Three Mile Plains, Hants County. All keys have been accounted for. The exhaust system is very loud and the push bar is bent or broken at the rear. Police Continue to Investigate Murder of Jason MacCullough

Today marked the ninteenth anniversary of the murder of Jason MacCullough and the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the case.

Jason’s body was found on a paved path between 100 and 104 Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 1999. There is no indication the 19-year-old was involved in any type of criminal activity, leading investigators to believe his death was a random act.

It is believed Jason was passing through the area while walking home and used the well-known short-cut between the buildings. Investigators believe there were several people in the area at the time of the homicide and strongly believe there were witnesses to the crime. Investigators continue to urge these people to come forward and report anything that they remember about this day, no matter how small the detail.

Suzuki ATV Stolen in Upper Falmouth

Windsor RCMP received a report of a stolen Suzuki ATV on August 7, 2018. The ATV broke down on a trail between the Bishopville Road & Eldridge Road in the Upper Falmouth area on the evening of Sunday, August 5. The owner returned the following day to retrieve it & it was not located where it was left. The ATV is a 2013 Suzuki Kingquad camo brown in color. NSLP# JH982.

Break Enter and Theft Mushaboom, NS.

Sometime between the winter of 2018 and August 11, 2018 a break and enter happened at an isolated camp on an island known as Gibson Island off of Mushaboom. Multiple household items were stolen including a canoe & paddle, water pump, wood stove, solar panel, Coleman Shower and more.

It is believed that a boat large in size was used as it is the only way to the island.

Windsor RCMP ask public to safeguard vehicles and belongings

August 25, 2018, Falmouth, Nova Scotia…Windsor RCMP is asking the public to take action to safeguard their property.

Within the last week, police have received numerous reports in the Falmouth area of thefts from vehicles and two vehicles were stolen within the last 24 hours. Both vehicles have since been recovered.

Given these thefts, RCMP are reminding Falmouth residents as well as those across Nova Scotia to lock their vehicles, remove their keys, keep valuables out of sight and report suspicious activity to police.

Halifax Police looking for help from public in collision investigation

Police are continuing to investigate a motor vehicle collision that occurred this weekend in Halifax and are asking the public’s assistance in obtaining photo or video footage from the area.

At 5:07pm, August 18, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a collision inbound on Highway 102 near Exit 0 in Halifax. A white Acura traveling outbound from Bayers Road crossed over the low median and collided with a Black Grand Caravan traveling inbound. The two occupants of the Acura were taken to the hospital by EHS with life threatening injuries. The driver of the Caravan was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are asking anyone who might have photo and or video footage from the area at the time of the incident to contact police.
