On March 27th, 2026 at 23:58 Police attended 213 Ocean Street Sydney Mines for a structure fire. Police spoke with the home owner who told police the following:
- He she was in bed when she heard a loud bang
- When she came out of her room she noticed the fire and ran out of the house
- She went to her neighbors and called the police from there
Police made a canvass of the area with negative results
There are surveillance cameras in the area but they did not pick up anything.
Police spoke with the neighbors in the area who stated they heard a window smashing along with 2 vehicle doors closing and the car speeding away.
