Video: Family appeals to public in disappearance of Tony Walsh

December 12, 2019, Bible Hill, Nova Scotia…The family of missing man Peter Anthony Walsh (Tony Walsh) has issued a video appeal for information that could lead to finding him. The video is being shared by Nova Scotia RCMP and features Tony Walsh’s mother, Susan Robben, and sister, Sarah Walsh-Turner.

“We, as a family, are looking for a Christmas miracle. I would like someone with great compassion and courage to come forward with any information you have on the disappearance of my son, Tony Walsh,” says Susan in the video. “Tony is a son, brother, father, uncle and friend to many and we all miss him dearly. Tony’s daughter is looking to have her dad come home for Christmas and cook her supper. That’s all she’s asking for.”

Tony was reported missing on August 28, 2019. On the morning and afternoon of Friday, August 23, 2019, Tony is known to have driven to various locations including Millbrook, Truro and Debert. It was reported that he was last seen getting into a truck in the Truro area. His vehicle, a beige 1999 Chrysler Sebring, was later found in a business parking lot in downtown Truro.

Tony is 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds. He has several tattoos, including a diamond under his right eye. He was last seen wearing brown work pants (possibly Carhartt brand), a white t-shirt with black lettering and brown work boots.

Susan Robben’s full statement has been shared on the Nova Scotia RCMP’s Facebook page and Twitter feed.

“We know that someone out there knows something about Tony’s disappearance and we want them to see this video,” says Cpl. Jennifer Clarke of the Nova Scotia RCMP. “Please consider sharing the video to all your social media platforms so it reaches the people who have that crucial information.”

Help Police Solve Bayers Road Gas Station Robbery

At 6:30 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a robbery that had just occurred at the Petro Canada gas station 7015 Bayers Road, Halifax.  Staff reported a male entered the store and demanded cigarettes and money.  The suspect left on foot eastbound on Bayers Rd. with an undisclosed amount of cigarettes and money.  No one was injured and no weapons were observed.  Patrol officers with the assistance of K9 searched the area but have not located the suspect.  The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’8” wearing a blue toque, gray scarf, black winter jacket, blue jeans, black Adidas sneakers with white soles.

Police seek driver in relation to vehicle-pedestrian collision

Police are looking to speak with the driver involved in a vehicle-pedestrian collision that occurred in Halifax earlier this month.

On December 3 police received a report of a vehicle pedestrian-collision that had occurred earlier in the day. At approximately 6:35 p.m. a 26-year-old man was crossing Bell Road at Robie Street in a marked crosswalk where he was struck by a vehicle headed east on Bell Road. The vehicle initially stopped, and the occupants briefly spoke with the man before leaving the area without exchanging information.

The driver of the vehicle is described as a woman, 20-25 years old with dark medium-length hair and circular gold-rimmed glasses. The passenger is described as a woman, 20-25 years old with light-coloured medium-length hair. The vehicle was a dark-coloured, four-door car.

Police seek public’s assistance finding lost hearing device

Halifax Regional Police is seeking the public’s assistance in finding an expensive hearing device that was lost in Dartmouth.

On November 4, police received a report that a 93-year-old man had lost the external component of his hearing implant in the area of 102 Albro Lake Road on July 12. The area was searched at the time, but the device could not be located. As a last resort, the man’s family contacted police to see if the device had been turned in. Given the essential nature of the device, we want to make every effort to try to find it and return it to the owner.

The device is a RONDO 2 audio processor manufactured by Med-El. It is black, oval-shaped, 46.8 mm x 35.8 mm x 12.1 mm (1.8” x 1.4“ x 0.47”) and very lightweight. The device is valued at $10,000.

Help RCMP solve break, enter and theft

December 9, 2019, Brookside, Nova Scotia… Halifax District RCMP is asking for the public’s help to solve a break, enter and theft that occurred at a residence on Lakewood Dr. in Brookside.

Between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on December 7, suspect(s) broke into a residence by entering through a window at the back of the home and left with with several items, including a 9-inch Acer laptop, a brown and black Louis Vuitton bag, a Tag Heuer watch and a pair of Ray Ban prescription sunglasses. The suspect(s) left the home by the front door.

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a robbery that occurred this morning in Halifax.

At 3:34 a.m. this morning a staff member working at the Irving Service Station located at 280 Lacewood Drive reported being robbed at knife point.  A male entered the store armed with a knife, walked behind the counter and demanded money.  An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen during the incident.   The employee was uninjured and the suspect fled heading westbound on Lacewood Drive.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30’s, approximately 5’8” in height, slim build, scruffy black hair with a beard and moustache,  wearing an orange hoodie, black coat with security on the back, blue jeans and wearing gloves.

Halifax Police arrest female on weapons charges

Two adults arrested after weapons call

Halifax Regional Police has two adults in custody in relation to a weapons incident which occurred in downtown Halifax this morning.

At 2:18 am this morning Halifax Regional Police members were present at Argyle Street and Grafton Street.  Members observed a physical disturbance occurring and immediately intervened.  During the altercation members observed a female in possession of a handgun.

She was immediately disarmed and taken into police custody without further incident.  The handgun was seized by police.  There were no injuries to any of the participants.  Several participants involved in the physical disturbance fled the scene when the handgun was observed.

Police have a 22 year old female and a 22 year old male in custody facing several firearms related changes.

The incident remains under investigation.

Robbery, Dartmouth

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a robbery  that occurred last evening in Dartmouth.

At  approximately 10:30 pm last evening officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 100 block of Main Street, Dartmouth.

Two suspects entered the business and told the clerk not to activate the alarm.  They moved behind the counter and took a quantity of cigarettes and cash before fleeing on foot.

The suspects were both wearing masks, one reported as a white male.  They were both approximately 5’8”.  One was wearing a black leather jacket with red sleeves, black pants and black sneakers with white soles.  The second suspect wore a dark winter coat and light pants.  One suspect was wearing black skeleton gloves.

No weapon was reported.

At 00:56 am officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 0 to 100 block of Titus Ave, Halifax

The suspect entered a the business and produced a knife demanding cash.

The suspect fled on foot towards Main Ave after receiving a small quantity of cash.

No persons were injured in the incident.

The suspect was described as a short, thin male, wearing a green reflective jacket and baseball cap.
