January 8, 2019, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia… Halifax District RCMP is investigating a complaint that a female was yelling for help from the back seat of a vehicle on Fescue Court at approximately 6:30 p.m. last night.   The vehicle stopped and started several times in the moments before the female was heard yelling.

The vehicle is described as a small grey hatchback believed to be a Hyundai. The male passenger in the vehicle is described as a tall, white male with short dark hair. There is no description of the driver.

11:09 p.m. on the 7^th of January, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a Break & Enter into an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) at an apartment building in the 0-100 block of Vimy Avenue Halifax.  Two suspects believed to be males, wearing all black and masks attempted to force open an ATM.  Tenants interrupted the suspects before accessing the cash in the ATM.  The suspects fled on foot toward Lacewood Drive.

Investigators with the General Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation, which is in the early stages.

January 5, 2019, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia…Police are requesting help from the public to solve a break and enter and theft in Lower Sackville in the early morning hours of Jan. 4.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., Halifax District RCMP responded to a commercial alarm at a business in the 0-100 block of Cobequid Rd. Upon arrival, members saw that the front door had been forced open. There was no one inside the business at the time.

Security footage shows that a few minutes earlier, a vehicle pulled up to the business’ front door. The vehicle is described as large vehicle (possibly a truck) with large headlights and large grille surrounded by a chrome border. A suspect exited the vehicle and began hitting and prying at the front door until entry was gained. This suspect appears to be a man dressed completely in black, including a mask, gloves and a hoodie with the hood up).

A second suspect then exited the same vehicle and entered the business carrying garbage cans with bags inside. This suspect appears to be a man dressed in black shoes, blue jeans, black gloves, a black mask, a grey toque and a black jacket that appears to have white rings around the cuffs.

The suspects filled garbage cans with approximately 350 cartons of cigarettes. The bags of stolen goods were placed in the suspect vehicle and the cans were discarded at the site. The suspects then fled in the suspect vehicle.

The Halifax Regional Police K9 Unit assisted and the file is now being led by the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.

Police Investigate Theft and Vehicle Collision with Police Vehicle

ON January 5, 2019, at 3:15 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a Theft call at Best Buy 119 Gale Terr Dartmouth.  The suspects fled in a vehicle – Orange Pontiac Vibe, and while leaving the suspect struck a parked vehicle.

Halifax Regional Police located the suspect vehicle on Main Street Dartmouth and activated emergency lights and siren attempting to stop the vehicle.  The suspect vehicle did not stop and fled from police.  While fleeing police the suspect vehicle struck a marked police van with two officers, head on with emergency equipment activated.  Neither officer was injured. The suspect vehicle continued outbound onto the Waverley Road.  The pursuit was called off.

An RCMP patrol member observed the suspect vehicle on Waverley Road.  The RCMP car did not attempt to stop the vehicle.  However, at 3:45 p.m. the suspect vehicle struck another vehicle near the 1800 block of Waverley Road, injuring an adult female and two children, all non-life threatening injuries.

Three suspects fled on foot. The RCMP member arrested two suspects near the vehicle.  RCMP, with a police service dog and HRP members conducted a track for the remaining suspect.  At 4:00 p.m. the police service dog located and arrested the remaining suspect in the 60 block of Rolling Hills Drive.

Two adult males and one adult female are held for court and are facing Criminal charges of:

– Theft under $5000,

– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000,

– Flight from Police,

– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle,

– Failing to Stop at Scene of an Accident and

– Assault Police with a Weapon (Vehicle). nd held for court.

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are currently investigating and the investigation is ongoing.

At 2:35 a.m. on January 1st Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of an injured male with injuries consistent with a stabbing entering the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital Emergency Department, 1799 Robie Street Halifax.  Officers confirmed an unknown person injured the male during an altercation in the 3300 block of Connaught Avenue Halifax.  There is no suspect description at this time.  Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation, which is in the early stages.

Members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating a report of shots fired in Dartmouth last evening.

At approximately 9:20 p.m., police responded to the report of shots fired at a vehicle on Highway 111 in Dartmouth.  An older model dark coloured van approached the vehicle and the driver fired shots at the moving car.  The vehicle sustained damage to the rear, no persons were injured.  It is believed that the involved parties are known to each other. This matter remains under investigation at this time.
