Truro police are looking to solve several thefts from vehicles that occurred during the week of December 19 in Truro. the following is a photo of a person of interest in these thefts. Police are investigating the sudden death of a man in Dartmouth yesterday.
On December 26, at approximately 4:20 p.m., police responded to a call to the Geary Street area where a 56-year-old male was located deceased in a tent.
The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service is conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The investigation is in the early stages and no further information is available at this time.

December 24, 2024, Colchester County, Nova Scotia… RCMP Northeast Nova Major Crime Unit (NEN MCU) is seeking information in relation to two deaths that have been ruled as homicides in Colchester County.
On December 19, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Truro Police Service (TPS) received information that a 27-year-old Truro man and a 25-year-old Pictou Landing First Nation man attended hospital with serious injuries consistent with stab wounds.
From the information gathered, investigators believe that the victims were assaulted by a person or persons in Colchester County. At this time, officers do not believe the incident was random.
On December 21, at approximately 11:50 p.m., Colchester County District RCMP and EHS responded to a report of a male in medical distress at a home on Vincent Dr. in Upper Onslow. The 25-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
On December 22, at approximately 10 a.m., Truro Police Service and EHS responded to a male in medical distress at a home on Lavinia Dr. in Truro. The 27-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The deceased men were identified as the victims of the stabbings.
On December 23, the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service ruled the deaths as homicides.
The investigation is ongoing and is led by NEN MCU with assistance from TPS, Colchester County District RCMP, the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service and the Forensic Identification Services from both the RCMP and TPS.

December 23, 2024, Pleasantfield, Nova Scotia… Queens District RCMP is investigating a structure fire that occurred in Pleasantfield.
Yesterday, at approximately 2:15 p.m., Queens District RCMP along with Liverpool Fire Department, North Queens Fire Association and Greenfield Fire Department responded to a seasonal residence fire on Old Garden Rd. near the 1000 block. The home was destroyed within minutes.
At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown and the investigation is ongoing.

Halifax Regional Police is investigating two robberies that occurred last night.
At approximately 9 p.m. officers responded to a robbery at the Circle K gas station located at 2499 Robie Street in Halifax. The man entered the store and demanded money and cigarettes while brandishing a knife. The suspect left the store empty-handed and fled on foot toward Charles Street. The employee was not physically injured.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s, approximately 5’8” tall with a thin build. At the time of the incident the suspect was wearing black clothing and a ski mask.
At approximately 9:35 p.m. officers responded to a robbery at Highfield Video & Variety located at 94 Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth. The man entered the store and demanded money while brandishing a knife. The suspect left the store with an amount of cash and fled the area on foot toward Joseph Young Street. The employee was not physically injured.
The suspect in this incident is believed to be the same suspect involved in the earlier robbery. The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 5’8” tall with a thin build. At the time of the incident the man was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black gloves, a ski mask and carrying a red reusable bag.

December 18, 2024, Springhill, Nova Scotia… Cumberland County District RCMP is seeking assistance from the public to identify a man following a suspicious incident in Springhill.
On December 17, Cumberland County District RCMP received a report that at approximately 8:30 a.m., a silver SUV approached a child on Princess St. in Springhill and the driver attempted to get the child into the vehicle. The child ran away, went to a safe place nearby, and reported the incident to trusted adults. The child was not physically injured.
The driver is described as a white man, approximately 5’5”, and 180 lbs. He was wearing a black coat, beige pants, and a gaiter-style mask with the Boston Bruins logo.
The investigation is ongoing and Cumberland County District RCMP understand the seriousness of and concern that comes from an incident like this. Officers want to speak with anyone who has information about this incident and anyone with doorbell or dashcam footage that shows Princess Street around the time this incident took place. December 16, 2024, West Dover, Nova Scotia… The RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a home invasion that occurred in West Dover.
On December 13, at approximately 7:35 a.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment responded to a report of a home invasion on West Dover Rd. Investigators learned that two men armed with knives had forced their way into the home. Once inside, one of the two occupants was restrained while the second was instructed to open a safe. The suspects then fled the area.
The occupants, a 77-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman, did not did not suffer physical injuries.
Officers, assisted by RCMP Police Dog Services, patrolled the area but the suspects were not located.
One male suspect is described as 6-foot-4 and of stocky build. He was wearing a mask and was dressed in black.
The second male suspect is described at 5-foot-8 and stocky. He was wearing camouflage pants, a black top and a mask.
The investigation, led by the General Investigative Section of the RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division with assistance from RCMP Forensic Identification Services, is ongoing. At this time, officers do not believe the home invasion was random.

Halifax Regional Police is investigating two robberies that occurred in Halifax last night.
At approximately 9:50 p.m. officers responded to a robbery that occurred at the KFC located at 18 Titus Street in Halifax. A man entered the restaurant brandishing a knife and demanded the employee open the till. The suspect fled the area on foot empty-handed toward the Bluenose Mini Mart. The employee was not physically injured.
At approximately 10 p.m. officers responded to a second robbery at Nayya Pizza, located at 3506 Dutch Village Road in Halifax. The suspect approached staff and attempted to take money from the till. The employee was not physically injured.
In both incidents, the suspect is described as a white man, 30 to 40-years-old and approximately 5’7” tall weighing approximately 170 lbs. At the time of the incidents, the suspect was wearing a brown jacket, blue jeans, a black beanie and sunglasses.

December 13, 2024, Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia… RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment continue to seek information about the vehicle involved in a collision with a pedestrian.
On November 22, at approximately 8:20 p.m., RCMP officers, fire services, and EHS responded to a vehicle-pedestrian collision in Cole Harbour that resulted in serious injuries to the pedestrian.
At this time, using information and evidence gathered through the investigation, officers have identified a vehicle of interest. A dark-coloured Subaru SUV was seen at a gas station in the vicinity of the collision and investigators believe the driver of the Subaru may have information about the incident.
The driver is described as a white man wearing a blue jacket and ball hat.

December 13, 2024, East Preston, Nova Scotia… The RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a home invasion that occurred in East Preston.
This morning, at approximately 2:15 a.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment responded to a report of a home invasion on Upper Partridge Rd. near Hwy. 7. Investigators learned that three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, gained entry into the residence through a window, assaulted one of the three occupants and demanded money before fleeing.
A 42-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS. The two other occupants of the home, a 48-year-old woman and a youth, did not suffer physical injuries.
Officers, assisted by RCMP Police Dog Services, patrolled the area but the suspects were not located.
The three male suspects wore black ski masks. Two of them were dressed in black, while the third was wearing a black and white jogging suit.
