Police are requesting the public’s assistance in relation to the investigation into a shooting that occurred last month in Dartmouth.

On October 29 at approximately 7:50 p.m. police responded to a report of shots fired in the 0-100 block of Roleika Drive. Witnesses reported that the suspect appeared to be shooting at people in a Mazda 3 that was in a parking lot adjacent to an apartment building. The Mazda 3 had left the parking lot and the suspect had fled the area on foot prior to officers arriving on scene. There were no reports of injuries and another unoccupied vehicle in the same parking lot sustained damage from bullets.

The suspect is described as a man, approximately 5’5” tall with a thin build and wearing dark clothing.

Police are releasing pictures of the Mazda 3 and ask anyone with information in relation to the vehicle to contact police. The vehicle is described as a mid-2000 beige Mazda 3 sedan.

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a suspicious circumstance call that occurred in Halifax last week.

On November 10 at approximately 7:30 a.m. a man approached two women, in separate incidents, who were running in Point Pleasant Park close to the Birch Drive entrance. The man made aggressive motions and yelled at the women as he approached them. Both women ran away and were not physically injured.

The suspect is described as a white man, large build, approximately 6’7” tall with a receding hair line.

Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in Halifax Saturday morning.

At approximately 4:40 a.m. police responded to a robbery that had occurred at the Needs Convenience Store at 33 Herring Cove Road, Halifax. 

The lone suspect entered the store, produced a handgun and demanded the clerk give him cigarettes. The suspect is described as a white man 40-45 years old, 5’8-5’10 and at the time he was wearing grey pants and a grey, white and black sweater and medical mask. The clerk was not injured. The suspect left the area in a vehicle and was last seen in the 200-300 block of Herring Cove Road, Halifax.

Sunday marks the fifth anniversary of the murder of Terrance Patrick Izzard, and the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the case.

On November 14, 2016 at approximately 11 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of shots fired on Cragg Avenue in Halifax. Responding officers located Terrance suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The Medical Examiner later ruled Terrance’s death a homicide. 

Investigators believe there are people who have information that could help solve Terrance’s murder. We hope that the passage of time encourages them to do the right thing and share what they know with police. It is never too late to come forward and the smallest piece of information may be just what is needed to progress the investigation into Terrance’s murder.

Terrance’s case is part of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program which offers cash rewards of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for specified major unsolved crimes. Police are investigating the theft of military medals that occurred yesterday in Halifax.

On November 11, police received a report of a theft that occurred from a room in the Lord Nelson Hotel located at 1515 South Park Street. Between the hours of 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. a room on the fourth floor was broken into and items including electronics, jewelry and military medals were stolen.

The medals are described as the Meritorious Service Medal (MSM) with silver bar, Special Service Medal (SSM) with NATO bar, 125^th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada Medal, and Canadian Forces’ Decoration (CD) with two bars.  For more details, descriptions and photos of the service medals, please visit the Government of Canada website.

Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in Dartmouth last night. At approximately 5:15 p.m. police responded to a robbery that had occurred at an apartment building in the 0-100 block of Highfield Park Drive. A man approached a woman in the lobby of the building, threatened her with what appeared to be a firearm and demanded her bag. The man fled the area on foot empty-handed. The woman was not physically injured.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s with a medium build and thick black eyebrows. At the time he was wearing a scarf-style black face mask, dark pants, a light jacket with blue and yellow patches on it. The suspect was also wearing one black sneaker and one white sneaker.

At 9 p.m., police responded to a robbery that had just occurred at Shawarman Pizza located at 342 Windmill Rd. A man entered the store, threatened the employee with a firearm and demanded cash. The suspect took a quantity of cash and fled on foot on Trinity Avenue. The employee was not injured. 

The suspect is described as a white man,  in his twenties, approximately 5’8″. At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, a camouflage face mask and black pants.

The suspect is described as a white man,  in his twenties, approximately 5’8″. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black face mask, black pants and black shoes.

Police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred in September in Dartmouth.

On November 6 police received a report of a sexual assault that had occurred on September 30 at approximately 7:30 p.m. on a walking path between Waynewood Drive and Brompton Road. A man approached a woman from behind and sexually assaulted her. The woman got away from the man and fled the area.

The man is described as approximately 5’ 7” tall, and at the time of the incident, he was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up.

Police are investigating a hit and run that occurred in Dartmouth last month.

On October 17 at approximately 8 p.m. police responded to a call involving a vehicle that had struck a man who was crossing in a marked crosswalk in the 300 block of Windmill Road. The driver of the vehicle initially stopped and got out of his vehicle, but he then left the area without speaking to the pedestrian. The pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle is described as a small, four door dark grey sedan that is possibly a Honda or Toyota. The driver is described as a Black man in his 30s with buzz cut style hair. He was wearing a grey shirt at the time.
