June 18, 2024, Fall River, Nova Scotia… The Integrated RCMP/HRP Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a vehicle-pedestrian collision that occurred in Fall River.

On June 14, at approximately 2:00 p.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment, fire and EHS responded to a report of a vehicle-pedestrian collision on Oakfield Park Rd. Upon arrival, RCMP officers learned that two male youths, who are known to each other, were involved in a verbal dispute. One of the youths approached the other, who was in a Honda Civic, and was struck as the vehicle left the area.

At approximately 4:42 p.m., officers located and arrested the driver and sole occupant of the Honda Civic, a youth from Lake Echo, at his home.

The pedestrian, a youth from East Hants, suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital by LifeFlight.

No-one else was injured during the incident.

The youth was later released on conditions. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Youth Justice Court on June 20, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. to faces charges of Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm and Failure to Stop After Accident.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and led by the General Investigation Section (GIS) of the Integrated RCMP/HRP Criminal Investigation Division.

Pictou County District RCMP is investigating the theft of a white 2009 Freightliner M2 bearing Nova Scotia license plate 47905D. The vehicle was stolen from Plymouth, Nova Scotia in the early morning hours of Saturday June 8, 2024. The vehicle is a water tanker, with “WATER” decals on both sides of the tank. Two suspects are being sought for this theft.

June 16, 2024, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia… Lunenburg County District RCMP is seeking public assistance after a recent series of marine-related thefts.

Between June 6 and June 16, officers have responded to multiple thefts of outboard motors and other marine-related property.

Lunenburg County District RCMP is advising the public to watch out for suspicious people or vehicles around their water ways. Ensure your marine-related property is regularly checked and secure, especially high-theft items like outboard motors.

Police investigate shooting

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a shooting that occurred this morning in Dartmouth.

At approximately 12:54 a.m. officers responded to a shooting that had just occurred in the area of the 100 block of Albro Lake Road. Officers located a man who had been shot. The man was taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Yesterday marked the second anniversary of the homicide of Nelson Tyrelle Beals and the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the case.

On June 11, 2022, at approximately 2:10 a.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of shots fired on Viscaya Place in Dartmouth. Officers located Nelson Beals, 34, who had been shot and was deceased, at a residence. The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service conducted an autopsy and ruled the manner of death to be a homicide.

Investigators believe there are people who have information that could help solve Nelson’s murder. We are asking them to do the right thing and share what they know with police. It is never too late to come forward and the smallest piece of information may be just what is needed to progress the investigation into Nelson’s murder.

Investigation into suspicious fire under way

June 12, 2024, Liverpool, Nova Scotia… Queens District RCMP is investigating a suspicious fire that occurred in Liverpool.

On May 13, at approximately 4:40 a.m., Queens District RCMP and fire services responded to a report of a structure fire on Main St.

The structure, an abandoned home, was destroyed by the fire. No one was injured in the incident.

From the information and evidence gathered, investigators believe the fire is suspicious in nature.

The investigation, led by Queens District RCMP, remains ongoing.

On May 30th, 2024, Woodstock NB Police Force received a complaint from a lady who had fallen victim to a “distraction scam” and in turn, had her debit card stolen and used with a substantial loss.
The victim was walking to her vehicle after shopping at a grocery store she was distracted by a male who pointed something unsafe on her car. While the male was distracting the victim at the rear of the vehicle, it is believed that another suspect entered the passenger side of the vehicle and stole cards from her wallet.

The card was since used for several large purchases over the next two days between Woodstock and Port Hawkesbury, Cape Breton, NS.

Investigators in the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are asking for the public’s assistance identifying a witness in the homicide of Ahmad Maher Al Marrach.

On April 22, at approximately 5:05 p.m., police responded to a report of an injured person in the parking lot of a shopping centre at 7001 Mumford Road. Officers located a 16-year-old youth who was taken to hospital where he died as a result of his injuries. The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service ruled the manner of death to be a homicide.

On that day, a driver of a motorcycle was witness to some of the incident and provided aid to the victim. The driver of the cruiser motorcycle was wearing grey pants, a dark-coloured jacket with stripes on the sleeves and a black helmet.

Investigators have taken all steps but have not been able to identify the driver. Police are asking the individual or anyone with information on their identity to call police at 902-490-5020.

On June 10^th 2024 Wagmatcook RCMP responded to report of an attempted home invasion involving a firearm. Police are looking to locate and arrest two suspects involved in this incident.

June 10, 2024, Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia… The RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division has charged a man for murder, following a homicide investigation on Sunday.

On June 9, at 4:16 p.m., a man contacted the RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment to report that he had murdered a woman inside his residence. With the assistance of Halifax Regional Police, RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment members responded to a home on Agincourt Crescent in Cole Harbour. Police surrounded the residence, and after several attempts to have the man exit the home, officers safely arrested a 76-year-old man.

A 74-year-old woman was found deceased inside.

Edmund Joseph Organ, 76, has been charged with Murder. He is currently in custody and scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on June 10, 2024.

The investigation is on-going, and is led by the Special Investigations Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, and is being assisted by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service, RCMP Forensic Identification Services, and the RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment.
