Armed Robbery in Elmsdale at Circle K

December 6, 2018, Elmsdale, Nova Scotia…Enfield RCMP is asking for help identifying a man who robbed a convenience store in Elmsdale on December 4.

The robbery took place at approximately 11 p.m. on Hwy 214. Upon arriving on site, police confirmed that the suspect entered the store, pulled out a knife and demanded cash from an employee. The employee provided the suspect with approximately $120 and the suspect left. The suspect was last seen heading eastbound out of the store on foot toward Hwy 2.  Nobody was injured as a result of this incident.

The suspect is a white man with a slim build, approximately six feet tall, with a short, dark goatee. He was wearing dark pants, light brown work boots and a black jacket with the hood up.

RCMP requesting assistance to identify road rage victim

December 3, 2018, Elmsdale, Nova Scotia . . . A suspected road rage incident that occurred on November 29 has resulted in the RCMP asking the public for assistance to identify the victim.

At 1:41 p.m. on November 29, RCMP were contacted via 911 by a witness who saw a man get out of his truck, climb the steps to a transport truck and punch the driver. This incident occurred on Hwy. 214 in Elmsdale, and traffic in the area was heavy due to Hwy. 102 being closed, and traffic being detoured through the Elmsdale area. The witness followed the driver to a bank nearby and noted signs of impairment. He noted the licence plate and vehicle description and passed this information to police. RCMP were able to use the information to identify the driver.

The victim of this incident did not report it to the police. RCMP are reaching out to the public, requesting the driver of the transport truck who was the victim of the assault come forward. RCMP are also interested in speaking with anyone else who saw the incident.

Police investigate an attempted home invasion in Dartmouth

Members of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating an attempted home invasion which occurred Monday evening in Dartmouth.

On December 3, 2018 at approximately 9:57 p.m., police received a report of possible gunshots in the area of Galaxy Ave. in Dartmouth.  Police located a 38 year old male victim who reported unknown suspect(s) had come to his apartment door and attempted to force it open.  They did not gain entry however a short time later he heard gunshots and his apartment window was smashed by an apparent gun shot.  The victim did not sustain any injuries.  Police also located a vehicle which appeared to have windows damaged by gun fire.

At this time the investigation is in its preliminary stages and more information will be released when it’s available.

Robbery, Halifax

At approx. 6:31pm Halifax Regional Police responded to a Robbery at Personal Tailoring, 6251 Quinpool Road, Halifax. A male entered the business, he had a knife and demanded cash from the employee that was working.  Male suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, there were no injuries. Suspect described as male, approx. 5’7”, handkerchief covering his face, wearing a hat, jeans, dark grey sweater.

Break & Enter Middle Sackville

November 30, 2018, Middle Sackville, Nova Scotia … At 11:16 a.m. on Thursday, Halifax District RCMP received a 911 call from a resident reporting a male was on the back patio of their home on Lylewood Dr. in Middle Sackville. When the home owner knocked on the window the male suspect jumped from the deck, which is located 12 feet off the ground.

RCMP, with assistance from Halifax Regional Police K-9 Unit, attended and conducted a search of the area. The suspect was not located. It was determined that the male suspect had broken in to an adjacent garage on the property and nothing was taken.

He is described as being a white male in his late teens, 5-foot-6, wearing jeans, blue jacket and carrying a red backpack.

November 30, 2018, East Ship Harbour, Nova Scotia … Halifax District RCMP is investigating after a resident who lives on Highway 7 in East Ship Harbour found cut up sausage laced with broken glass scattered around their backyard where their dogs frequent. The incident took place between November 27 and 28.

Two men wearing camouflage commit a home invasion on Oak Street in Pictou

Two males dressed in camouflage, ski masks, gloves came into a house on Oak Street in Pictou, N.S.  and  stole his wallet from his wheelchair containing $500 cash and a tin of medical marihuana.

Police Treating Suspicious Death as Homicide

At approximately 8:54 pm. Halifax Regional Police responded to a weapons call in the 0-100 of Clovis Avenue in Halifax.

At approximately 8:54 p.m. on November 23, Halifax Regional Police responded to a weapons call in the 0-100 block of Clovis Street in Halifax.  A 25 year old male, Ryan Michael Nehiley, was pronounced deceased after being transported to the hospital.

Investigators believe the victim was shot inside his residence and that more than one person was involved in the offence.

Police Continue to Investigate 1998 Murders of Gail Stone and Richard Marriott

 

Today will mark the 20th anniversary of the murders of Gail Stone and Richard Marriott and the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the case.

On November 20, 1998 at 9:41 p.m., police responded to a report of a double shooting at 15 Parkmoor Avenue in Halifax, the residence of Gail Marie Stone and Richard Joseph Marriot. Upon arrival, officers located Gail inside the home suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to hospital and succumbed to her injuries four days later.

Richard was found deceased inside the home as a result of gunshot wounds. He was last seen at approximately 9:15 p.m. the same day driving a maroon-colored 1996 Dodge Caravan on Dutch Village Road. It is believed he arrived home at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Investigators are continuing to pursue ways to advance the investigation. They believe there are people who have information about this case and they want them to assure them that it’s never too late to come forward with what they know.  Anyone with information about Gail’s and Richard’s murders is asked to contact the Halifax Regional Police/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit at (902) 490-5333. Suspicious fire at Potlotek Mission

November 20, 2018, Potlotek, Nova Scotia . . . On November 19 at 5:25 p.m., Richmond District RCMP responded to a call of a suspicious fire that appeared to have been set on the wharf at the Potlotek Mission. Police attended the area, which is a remote part of the community and has no residences nearby, and no street lights. Firefighters were already at the scene, extinguishing the fire. Police officers noted garbage in the area, some of which appeared to have been placed on top of the aluminum wharf and burnt. The aluminum wharf had a plastic top surface which was heavily damaged in one section due to the fire.
