Masked man with knife robs Springhill service station

January 26, 2019, Springhill, Nova Scotia… At 2:22 pm, Springhill RCMP responded to an armed robbery at a service station on Highway 2 in Springhill.

A man entered the service station, approached the clerk and demanded she open the till. After the clerk refused, the man attempted to open the till himself; he was holding a knife with an approximately six-inch serrated blade. There was a brief altercation between the man and the clerk. The man fled the service station with an unknown amount of cash, and left the scene in the passenger seat of a newer model black Toyota Corolla, which had been waiting nearby.

 

The suspect is described as white, approximately 5’6″ tall, and 18 – 20 years old. He was wearing a blue hooded windbreaker, dark camouflage jogging pants, tight at the ankles, and a black face mask. The suspect may have an injury to his head or face resulting from the altercation with the clerk. No one else was injured during the incident.

The robbery is still under investigation.

Employee robbed at knife point in parking lot

January 22, 2019, Pictou, Nova Scotia . . . At 6:24 p.m. last evening, an employee was leaving a business on Veteran`s Dr. with the day`s deposits. She got into her car, and before she closed the door, a man grabbed the door, approached her, pointed a knife at her stomach, and told her to give him the money. She gave him the bag and he left the area on foot. No one was hurt and there were no witnesses in the area.

The suspect is described as a man, about six-foot tall with a thin build. He was wearing a dark coloured hoodie with a zipper in the front and fur lining in the hood. His hood was up and he was wearing a mask that covered the lower half of his face. An RCMP Police Dog Service team attended the area but was unable to locate a suspect.

Recognize these people? Help solve theft from business

January 20, 2019, Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia…Inverness District RCMP is asking for help from the public to identify suspects following a theft from a business on Reeves St. in Port Hawkesbury.

On January 10 at approximately 7:30 p.m., a woman and a man entered the business together. The man picked up multiple perfume bottles, placed them inside his jacket, then deposited them into the woman’s purse. The suspects then left the business together.

The woman is described as being in her 40s with short black hair and a fair complexion. She was wearing a black jacket. The man is described as being in his late 40s with grey hair and a grey beard. He was wearing a black jacket and black pants. He was in a wheelchair and appeared to have one leg.

Inverness District RCMP is looking to identify the suspects.

January 17, 2019, Head of Chezzetcook, Nova Scotia . . . A 43-year-old man was transported to hospital via LifeFlight yesterday with life-threatening injuries after three men entered his home and shot him in the stomach. The incident occurred near 3:45 p.m. at a home on Mary Etta Dr. Police have been advised today that the victim is expected to survive.

Three men wearing masks entered the victim’s home and shot him. The victim does not know the identity of the suspects. The suspects left the home on foot and may have left the area in a vehicle.  A police dog was called to the area to assist with tracking the suspects, but was unable to locate them.  Police continue to canvass the area to determine the circumstances of this incident. Police do not believe this was a random act.

The investigation is being led by the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division with assistance of the RCMP Forensic Identification Section.

On November 15, 2018, a break and enter was reported to Lunenburg District RCMP. The complainant told police he isn’t often away from his home, but while he was out between 10:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. that day, someone broke into his home and garage and took several valuable items.

The suspects appear to have entered the home by prying open a bedroom window. They appear to have searched the entire home and took several collectibles including a signed baseball, card collections, comic book collections, and paintings. Also missing is a Nikon digital camera and a laptop. A sleep apnea machine was also stolen. The suspects left a small dog that was inside the home, out in the cold. The dog was not harmed.

The suspects also entered the victim’s garage and took several tools and two ATVs – one 2009 black Can-am Outlander with Nova Scotia licence plate FB 281 and one 2014 green Yamaha Grizzly with Nova Scotia licence plate HD786. The victim is missing several plastic lobster boxes which are believed to have been used to transport the stolen items from the home. The victim’s German Shepherd was left in the garage by the suspects and was also not harmed.

Neighbours saw lights on in the victim’s home around 3:15 p.m., then at 4:15 p.m. they saw the two ATVs being driven off the property by two riders wearing helmets and camouflage gear.
