Homicide ( SOLVED )

Today will mark the first anniversary of the murder of Tyler Ronald Joseph Keizer, and the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the case.

On November 21 at 10:47 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Falkland and Gottingen Streets in Halifax. When members arrived, they located Tyler, who had been shot, in a vehicle. He was transported to the QEII Health Sciences Centre with life-threatening injuries, but later died. An autopsy was conducted and the Medical Examiner ruled Tyler’s death a homicide.

Investigators believe there are people who have information that could help solve Tyler’s murder, and hope that the passage of time may encourage someone to do the right thing and come forward with what they know. Stolen Snowblowers

Kings District RCMP, Kingston Detachment, is currently investigating the theft of five (5) brand new Honda snowblowers from GW Sampson Ltd in Kingston, NS.  The offence occurred sometime between November 18 at 23:55hrs and November 20 at 07:30hrs.  During that time period, an outdoor compound was entered, the snowblowers were removed from their crates and stolen.  Descriptions of the items are as follows:

Mischief

November 21, 2017, Goffs, Nova Scotia … Halifax District RCMP is investigating two incidents involving a green laser being pointed in to the cockpits of incoming flights at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport.

Just after 11 p.m. last evening, Halifax District RCMP, with assistance from Enfield District RCMP, made extensive patrols of the Grand Lake, Goffs, and Enfield areas after two pilots reported a green laser was pointed directly in to the cockpit of two flights landing at the airport.

An hour later, an off-duty RCMP officer was driving on Highway 2 in Enfield when their vehicle was also targeted by a green laser.

The suspects were not located in any of these incidents.

“Such actions are dangerous and jeopardize the safety of the passengers and crew on these flights,” says Cpl. Dal Hutchinson, Halifax District RCMP. “As well, it can result in charges under the Aeronautics Act which can result in a fine up $100,000.”

Stolen Trailer

Between 2245 hours on November 4, 2017 and 0830 hours on November 5, 2017, a home made utility
trailer was stolen from a yard in South Lochaber, Nova Scotia. The trailer is a 4’x8′ black utility trailer with
a plywood deck worth approximately $1000.
There is no video surveillance available in the area and no known witnesses. However, due to the cold
night of November 4, 2017, the victim observed tire tracks in the frost. He was able to say that the trailer
headed north along Highway 7 towards Antigonish and was hauled by a truck.
The victim described the trailer as being unique. It is home made and black in colour with reflective tape on the
sides. It boasts a 3500lb. torque flex axle and the tail gate is the trailers ramp made out of 1″x1″ angle iron with
mesh on them. Each ramp in 10″ wide and 4′ long. The sides are bolted on 2×12’s. The fenders are U-shaped
and are bolted on as well.
The trailer was just finished being built and consequently was not plated and was not even serialized with a VIN.

Stolen Trailer

November 10, 2017, Lower Truro, Nova Scotia . . . Colchester District RCMP is asking for help from the public to identify a person of interest following the theft of a utility trailer from a business in Lower Truro. At 1 a.m. on November 8, a man cut the chain on the outdoor storage yard of the business and stole the trailer. It was wheeled by hand from the lot and hooked up to a waiting vehicle in a nearby parking lot. The trailer is a galvanized 4 x 6 ‘Stirling’ open-rail trailer, valued at just under $1000.00.

Robbery

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a robbery that occurred this evening in Halifax.

At approximately 7:18pm officers responded to a report of a robbery at TJ’s Grocery located at 290 Main Ave. A man entered the store wearing a black mask and immediately approached the counter area and demanded cash and cigarettes while threatening the employee with a knife. The suspect left the store on foot after receiving a quantity of cigarettes and cash. Responding officers assisted by K9 searched the area with negative results. The employee was not injured.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’9” to 6’ tall, wearing a black mask, a gray sweater with gray hood and a black vest overtop and Jeans. He was carrying an over the shoulder duffle bag.

Break & Enter

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a Break and Enter that occurred overnight in Halifax .

At approximately 3:06am officers responded to an alarm at Mighty Auto, located at 6437 Lady Hammond Rd, where they observed that entry had been gained by smashing a large front window to the business. Officers were able to confirm that the suspect was successful in removing the cash register from the business prior to police arriving to the scene.  There is no description of the suspect in this matter and it is unknown if this incident is related to the break and enter which occurred earlier in Dartmouth.

Break & Enter

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a Break and Enter that occurred overnight in Dartmouth.

At approximately 1:36am officers responded to an alarm at Subway Restaurant located at 100 Ilsley Avenue, where they observed that entry had been gained by smashing a large window to the business. Officers were able to review surveillance video and confirmed that a male suspect entered the store with a hammer and was able to remove a quantity of money that was left in a cash register till.

The suspect is described as a male, wearing a dark sweater with green and pink design on chest, a hooded shirt with a white undershirt and jeans.

Robbery

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a robbery that occurred this evening in Halifax.

At approximately 10:15pm officers responded to a report of a robbery in a parking lot located in the 1000 block of South Park Street. A man wearing a mask pushed a parking attendant to the ground and forcibly took a quantity of cash from the attendant. The suspect left the area on foot headed towards Spring Garden Rd. Responding officers where not able to locate the suspect. The parking attendant was not injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6’ tall, wearing a black mask and dark clothing.

Homicide

Police Continue to Investigate Murder of Terrance Izzard

Today will mark the first anniversary of the murder of Terrance Patrick Izzard, and the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the case.

On November 14, 2016 at 11:07 p.m., Halifax Regional Police received a report of shots fired on Cragg Avenue in Halifax. Officers responded to the area and upon arrival located Terrance suffering from life-threatening injuries. EHS transported him to the QEII Health Sciences Centre where he succumbed to his injuries. The Medical Examiner later ruled Terrance’s death a homicide.

Investigators believe there are people who have information that could help solve his murder, and hope that the passage of time may encourage someone to do the right thing and come forward with what they know.

This case is also part of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program
