Laundry Room Thefts, Dartmouth NS

Crime Of The Week

There have been five related theft and damage from/to Coin operated laundry machines located in apartments on Boland Ave in Dartmouth. Sometime during the evening of November 21st, between 2 and 8 pm, someone(s) entered Apartment buildings located at 122, 130, 167, 169 and 171 Boland Ave. and took an unknown quantity of change from coin operated washers and dryers. In the process the machines themselves were damaged. There was no sign of forced entry into any of the buildings and the laundry rooms themselves are always left open for the tenants.

Police are also investigating 7 separate thefts from coin operated laundry machines located in apartments between October 6th and 10th and again on November 23rd and 30th. These apartments are located on Lakefront Dr in Dartmouth. Again an unknown quantity of change was taken from the machines, damading them in the process and no forced entry was observed into the buildings. It’s believed by police the Lakefront thefts and Boland Ave. thefts may be related.
