Suspects won`t likely be mowing lawns

July 13, 2018, Upper Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia… Halifax District RCMP would like to hear from you if someone tries to sell you a ride on lawn mower and a whipper snipper for a reduce cost.

Sometime between late Tuesday afternoon July 10 and early Wednesday July 11  suspects entered a property on Anderson Rd. in Upper Hammonds Plains and stole lawn care equipment. The ride on lawn mower is a yellow Craftsman model and the gas powered whipper snipper is an orange STIHL.

July 11, 2018, Sheffield Mills, Kings County, Nova Scotia . . . At 6:37 a.m. today, Kings District RCMP responded to a call indicating the remains of a deceased female had been found outside, near a home on Saxon St. in Sheffield Mills.

The RCMP responded immediately to the scene and are being assisted by members of the RCMP Forensic Identification Section and the Southwest Nova Major Crimes Unit.   The investigation is ongoing.

Was your vehicle broken into on July 11-12?

 

Police are asking residents of South-end Halifax who had property stolen from their vehicles in the overnight hours of July 11-12 to contact them.

 

At approximately 12:20 a.m., on July 12 police responded to the area of Bridges Street and Harrington Drive to reports of two people breaking into vehicles.  A description of the two men was provided to responding officers and at 12:30 a.m. officers located two people in the area of 600 Franklyn Street matching the description. A 21-year-old man from Dartmouth and a 16-year-old male youth from Halifax were arrested and taken into custody without incident.

 

The man and the youth were searched and officers located what is believed to be a large amount of stolen property. Investigators would like to return the property to the rightful owners. If you live in the South-end Halifax area and had property stolen from your vehicle(s) in the overnight hours of July 11-12 please contact police at 902-490-5016. July 12, 2018, Boutiliers Point, Nova Scotia … Halifax District RCMP is investigating a theft of an ATV from a locked container at a residence on Boutiliers Point Rd. in Boutiliers Point.

The home owner left home around 8 a.m. on Wednesday and returned around 1:30 p.m. to discover suspects cut the lock on the container and stole the ATV. The ATV is described as being a khaki green 2017 Suzuki LT-F400FL7 with King Quad bumpers, Bronco Classic seat and a 2500 lbs winch.

July 16, 2018, Truro Heights, Nova Scotia … Just before 8 a.m. on Sunday morning, Colchester District RCMP responded to a robbery at a business on the Truro Heights Connector Rd. in Truro Heights. The suspect parked at the gas pumps, filled the vehicle with gas, before entering the business. At this time, the suspect held a hand in one pocket and demanded money. The suspect left with a small quantity of cash and failed to pay for the fuel.

The suspect is described as being a male, wearing a dark coloured hoodie, camouflage shorts and black footwear. He left in an older model Pontiac Montana van, described as being gold with loud exhaust. The van was last seen heading towards Truro on the Truro Heights Connector.

Police seek help in investigating sexual assaults at Bedford Pool

Officers are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man after an incident yesterday at a public pool in Bedford.

At 9:05 p.m., officers responded to the Bedford Outdoor Pool, located at 277 Shore Drive, to a report that a man had inappropriately touched a number of women while they were in the children’s pool.

The man is described as white, in his late 20s to early 30s, 5’10”, 200 lbs with blue eyes, brown shaggy hair and a full brown beard approximately 1” long. He was wearing a chain with a cross pendant, black exercise shorts and a white t-shirt.

A number of pool patrons reported the incident to employees but left the pool before officers arrived. Officers have spoken with two of the patrons and are asking the others to contact police.

July 6, 2018, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia . . . The RCMP is asking the public to be aware of a vehicle that has been involved in several suspicious incidents in Nova Scotia. A white 2018 Ford Explorer with Quebec plate FNA7026 has been involved in several incidents where the occupants, a woman and two men, stop members of the public in their vehicles and ask for money for fuel. They also tell people they have jewelry for sale at what is believed to be inflated prices.

While no criminal offences have been reported, the public is being alerted to these incidents to ensure they are aware of the possibility that this may be a fraud scam. As with any fraud scam, police would like to remind citizens that they should never share personal or financial information with an unknown source. In addition, taking a moment to verify the authenticity of the goods or services that you are purchasing could be the best investment you will make.

July 8, 2018, Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia . . . During the weekend of July 6-8, several community mailboxes were vandalized and mail was stolen. Incidents were reported in Lower Sackville, Fall River, and Hammonds Plains. Vandals pried individual mail boxes open and removed the contents.

In many cases, the victims are not aware whether anything was stolen unless they confirmed delivery of a trackable piece of mail. Residents are asked to contact their local detachment if they feel they are victims of these thefts. Police Continue to Investigate the Murder of William Allan MacDonald

Fifteen years ago, William MacDonald was murdered in Dartmouth and investigators with the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continue to investigate his death.

At 10:45 p.m. on July 9, 2003, officers responded to a report of a suspicious death and found 62-year-old William Allan MacDonald shot to death in his apartment on Jackson Road in Dartmouth. The investigation confirmed that he had been murdered in his residence. William often had visitors and it is possible that he may have been murdered by someone known to him.

William and his loved ones deserve justice. Investigators believe there are people who have information about his murder that could help advance the investigation. They are asking those people to do the right thing and come forward with what they know.

RCMP seek public assistance following incident

July 10, 2018, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia … Just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening, Halifax District RCMP responded to a complaint of an assault after a witness observed a young female being pushed in to a black Honda SUV by an older female. The young female was then punched by the older female, before the vehicle sped off towards Glendale Dr. The incident occurred in the 1400 block on Riverside Dr. in Lower Sackville.

The victim is described as a black female in her teens, black hair, 5-feet tall, black t-shirt and shorts. The suspect is described as a black female in her thirties, 5’2” wearing a black head wrap and short pants.
