November 26, 2024, East Preston, Nova Scotia… The RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a home invasion that occurred in East Preston.

On November 23, shortly after midnight, RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment responded to a report of a home invasion near the 200 block on Bell St. Investigators learned that two men entered the home, one of whom brandished a knife and demanded occupants what they had. The suspects fled on foot with a small quantity of cannabis.

The occupants of the home, two 27-year-old East Preston men, did not suffer physical injuries.

Officers, assisted by RCMP Police dog services, patrolled the area but the suspects were not located.

One suspect is described as a black male, 18-19 years-old. He was wearing a black shirt and black pants.

The second offender is described as a white male, 18-19 years-old. He was wearing a mask, a yellow hoodie and an off-white pants.

The investigation is ongoing.

November 26, 2024, Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia… RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is seeking information in relation to a vehicle arson that occurred in Cole Harbour.

On October 23, at approximately 10 p.m., RCMP officers and fire services responded to a report of a white 2015 GMC Yukon on fire on Gammon Crescent. Information and evidence gathered at the scene indicates that the fire was a result of an arson.

At this time, investigators have identified a vehicle of interest that was seen in the area prior to the incident. The vehicle is described as two-door pickup truck from the late 70s or early 80s.

The investigation is ongoing.

November 25, 2024, Mavillette, Nova Scotia… Meteghan RCMP Detachment is seeking information in relation to shots fired in Mavillette.

On November 24, Meteghan RCMP received a report of shots fired at a residence on C Boudeau Rd. The incident appears to have occurred overnight, resulting in damage to the home.

There were no reports of injuries.

The investigation, which is being led by Meteghan RCMP with assistance from the RCMP Forensic Identification Section, is ongoing.

North Preston RCMP are looking to solve the theft of a black 2019 Mercedes CLA250 bearing Ontario plate: CXRT397. It has silver rims and a black plate liner withe the words LANCASTER on it.

At approximately 1545 hrs on November 16^th, 2024, the Loss Prevention Officer at the Atlantic Superstore in Digby reported a theft. The subject is reported to have been from multiple grocery stores around the province. The subject appears to be female and was wearing a black winter coat with fur on the hood in multiple occurrences, along with a medical facemask. The subject also was wearing black tuque, green shirt, blue jeans and black ankle boots.

Tatamagouche RCMP are looking to identify a male involved in an incident which occurred on Wednesday, September 11th, 2024, at approximately 08:45hrs. The male of interest in this case is seen in this photo walking out with boxes of tools then leaving the area in a newer grey Toyota Highlander.

Tomorrow marks the 30^th anniversary of the murder of Kimber Leanne Lucas and the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the case.

Kimber’s body was discovered on November 23, 1994, at 8:41 a.m. at the rear of 5783 North Street in Halifax. Her death was later ruled a homicide. Investigators were able to determine that Kimber was in the area of North Street and Maitland Street between 1:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on the day of her death. She was also seven months pregnant at the time of her death.

Investigators believe there are people who have information that could help solve Kimber’s murder and hope that the passage of time will encourage someone to do the right thing and come forward with what they know. It is never too late to come forward and the smallest piece of information may be just what is needed to progress the investigation.

On November 16th, Cheticamp RCMP received a report of a stolen side by side, stolen from Mountain Road, Point Cross, NS. The side by side is described as a red 2019 Can Am Maverick 1000, Nova Scotia license plate: LK019. 

It has a cracked front windshield, light truck tires, LED light bar on the front.

At approximately 1008 hours, the New Glasgow Regional Police received a report from the NSLC located at 610 East River Road, New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, that a male had just stole six 1.75 L bottles of Captain Morgan rum and fled in a red Toyota. Investigation showed that there were two suspects who stole liquor.

November 15, 2024, North Preston, Nova Scotia… The RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is seeking information in relation to shots fired in North Preston.

This morning, at approximately 4:05 a.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment and Halifax Regional Police Dog Services responded to a report of shots fired near the 100 block of Simmonds Rd.

Officers learned that shots were heard by nearby residents who also reported hearing a vehicle flee the area. At the scene, officers found evidence consistent with that of a shooting.

There were no reports of injuries or damage to property.

The investigation, which is being led by the General Investigative Section of the RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division with assistance from the RCMP Forensic Identification Section, is ongoing.
