Sometime between 2200  on October 27 and 0630 on October 28 a 2014 Polaris Side by Side was taken from a residence in Dutch Settlement.

Theft Cumberland County

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in solving a theft which happened in Springhill NS

Sometime in the early morning hours of October 18th, 2015 a 2009 grey Yamaha YXR-700 side by side ATV was stolen from a residence on Wolsey Street in Springhill.  It appears that the culprits moved the ATV toward North Street, without keys.

Homicide

The HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in solving the homicide of Kevin Farren.

At 2:26 a.m. on March the 9th 2012 , Halifax Regional Police responded to an address on Havenbrook Hill in Portland Hills subdivision in relation to the death of a man. An autopsy was conducted on March 10 and the cause of death was ruled a homicide. The victim was later identified as 61-year-old Kevin Farren of Waverley.

Investigators in the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit are continuing their investigation into the homicide of Mr. Farren. Theft Cole Harbour NS

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in solving a case of theft of comic books from the Portland Hills area of Nova Scotia.

Sometime between the dates of the September 27th/28th, 2015 comic’s were taken from an address on  Summer Field Way.  The comics were contained in three separate boxes sealed with packing tape. These three boxes were then stored within an Olive Green suitcase. Value is in the $10,000. area.

Homicide

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in solving the murder of  Tanya Jean Brooks  ( aka Tanya Lynch ).Tanya was a 36-year-old aboriginal woman who was associated to the Millbrook First Nation and the mother of five children.

On May 11, 2009 at about 2:15 p.m., Tanya Jean Brooks’ body was found in a basement window well of St. Pat’s Alexandra Elementary School in Halifax. It was later determined that she was the victim of a homicide. Tanya was known to frequent the Gottingen Street area, and investigators were able to trace her movements until 8:20 p.m. on May 10, 2009 when she left Halifax Regional Police Headquarters at 1975 Gottingen Street. Investigators believe that Tanya knew her assailant(s) and that there are witnesses out there who have not yet come forward. They urge anyone who witnessed anything suspicious around the school or has information about Tanya’s murder who has yet to speak with investigators to break their silence.

Break & Enter Springhill NS

Crime Stoppers and Springhill RCMP are asking for the public’s help in solving a break and enter which occurred in Springhill NS

Sometime between August 28th and August 29th 2015 unknown persons entered a Springhill home on Mechanic Street and spread relish and bbq sauce all over the place.  This break and enter and mischief caused considerable damage  around the home.

Stolen Auto Cumberland Co, NS

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in solving a case of a stolen vehicle in Cumberland County NS

Overnight on September 18th 2015 a 2011 Blue Ford Fusion was stolen from Roymac Homes outside of Amherst on the 366 Highway. The vehicle was located several hours later on the 204 Highway outside of Amherst.

Property Damage Tidnish NS

Crime Stoppers are asking for the public’s help in solving a number of cases of damage to property at the Tidnish baseball field in Tidnish NS.

Overnight on October 4th 2015 several vehicles were damaged at the Tidnish baseball field.  Along with the vehicles, there was some minor damage done to buildings at the field also. There was a large party near the damage and any information could help the investigation.

Theft from Super Mailboxes

Crime Stoppers and Halifax District RCMP are asking for the public’s help with solving theft’s from super mailboxes in Tantallon, Timberlea and Hubley over the weekend.

Preliminary investigation determined unknown person(s) forced their way into several mailboxes located in a number of areas within Tantallon RCMP’s patrol area. In all cases, criminals used prying tools to break into the boxes and steal the contents of those containing parcels. The areas affected are: Deerwood Lane at Grebe Ave, Timberlea, Big Hubley Lake Rd. in Hubley and Rockcliffe Cres. at Pinetree Cress., Hammonds Plains. These crimes are believed to have occurred sometime overnight Thursday, October 1 into Friday, October 2, 2015.

Theft Pictou NS

Crime Stoppers and Pictou County District RCMP are asking for the public’s help in solving a case of theft in the town of Pictou NS.

Sometime during the night of August 30th  someone stole the following items from a residence on North Street.

  • one of two dark brown plastic Adirondack chairs
  • one of two small side table, glass top, metal legs
  • one red solar light, 12 inches in diameter
  • three small silver solar lights with faux stained glass sides
  • one large white quartz rock
  • broke the end piece from a metal flower in the garden
