Police are investigating a robbery that occurred earlier today in Halifax.

At approximately 1:45 p.m. police located an injured man in the 2400 block of Gottingen Street in Halifax. At this time, it is believed that the 40-year-old Halifax man was injured as a result of a robbery. He has been transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Property Damage, Dartmouth

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a man in relation to an incident of property damage to a Halifax Transit bus that occurred last month in Dartmouth.

On June 16 at approximately 12:20 p.m., a man broke the passenger-side exterior mirror off a bus that had stopped at the bus stop on Alderney Drive before Prince Street. The man fled the area and was last seen heading up Prince Street toward Portland Street.

The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 6’5”, wearing a blue button-up shirt.

Police are releasing photos of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

Did anyone witness this assault on Water Street , Halifax

July 15, 2019 (10:05 p.m.)

At 7:09 p.m. police received a call to attend the 1400 block of Lower Water St. in Halifax for a male who had threatened a group of males saying he would stab them with a knife.    Police arrived onscene and took a 61 year old male into custody without incident.  A knife was not located.

After investigation it was learned the suspect had been in a fight with an unknown male on the Halifax Waterfront.  When a group of males tried to break up the fight the suspect threatened to stab them making gestures that he had a knife however, a knife was not seen.

The investigation is in the preliminary stages and charges are anticipated.

Do you have information about a drive-by shooting in Onslow?

July 15, 2019, Onslow, Nova Scotia . . . On July 13 at approximately 10:30 p.m.,  an unoccupied vehicle was damaged by shots fired from a passing vehicle. The incident occurred near a home on Elm St. in Onslow.

Members of Colchester District RCMP responded immediately and the initial investigation revealed the passing vehicle used by individuals involved is an older black Volkswagen Golf. The vehicle has a damaged windshield and the rear window is covered in plastic and is secured with red tape.

Colchester District RCMP is seeking assistance from the public to assist with this investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the detachment in Bible Hill at 902-893-6820. Theft of Polaris RZR 800 side-by-side in Greenwood

On June 21, 2019 at 10:54 hour Kings County RCMP received a report of the theft of a white and orange 2013 Polaris RZR 800 side by side (VIN 4XAVE76A7DB616148) from a residence on Marklee Drive, Greenwood, N.S.

The vehicle was parked at the residence as of June 20, 2019 at 20:00 hours and was found to be missing on June 21, 2019 at 07:30 hrs.

Youth arrested for arson in Kings County

July 10, 2019, Kentville, Nova Scotia . . . Shortly before 7 p.m. on July 9, Kings District RCMP was called to the scene of a suspicious fire at a multi-unit home on Exhibition St. in Kentville. The home contained five apartments and all of the occupants were able to get out safely. Police shut the road down in the area to assist firefighters as they responded to the incident. A witness at the scene provided information to police and resulted in the arrest of a 16-year-old female youth from Kings County.

The youth was transported to Kings District RCMP and later released. RCMP have maintained continuity of the scene and are working with the Office of the Fire Marshal to assist them in their investigation. Police seek public assistance in assault with a weapon investigation

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a assault with weapon that occurred on Sunday morning in Halifax.

At approximately 3:34 a.m. on July 7, officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 1500 block of Grafton Street in Halifax. Upon arrival, it was determined a man had been assaulted with a edged weapon. The man was transported to the hospital.

Stabbing in Pictou County

 July 8, 2019, Merigomish, Pictou County, Nova Scotia . . . Today at 3:30 a.m., Pictou District RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence in Merigomish. When they arrived at the scene, police located a 30-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds. The suspect, a 37-year-old man from Thorburn, fled the scene on foot into a wooded area nearby. An RCMP Police Dog and handler were called to the area to assist in locating the suspect. He was located by the dog and arrested without incident.

The suspect was assessed by EHS for non life-threatening injuries then transported to Pictou District Detachment for holding. The victim was transported by EHS to hospital for serious but non life-threatening injuries. The suspect is known to the victim and this is not considered to have been a random act. The suspect is being held in custody pending a court appearance in Pictou Provincial Court later today.

At approx. 1:16 am Halifax Regional Police responded to a fire at Barran Barber Shop, located in the mall at 7071 Bayers Rd , Halifax. Halifax Regional Fire responded as well and extinguished the fire . There were no injuries. The fire was deemed suspicious and the investigation is ongoing.
