July 24, 2019, Great Village, Colchester County, Nova Scotia . . . On July 20 Colchester District RCMP responded to a break and enter at a home on Lorneville Rd. Someone smashed the patio door of the home, removed a gun safe, and left. Nothing else was disturbed.

The gun safe contained six restricted hand guns and two rifles. Colchester District RCMP is asking anyone who has information about the missing guns to call them at 902 893-6820. July 24, 2019, Debert, Nova Scotia . . . At 3:39 a.m. today, Colchester District RCMP responded to a call of a drive-by shooting at a home on Masstown Rd. Police found two bullet holes in the home, and located a fragment of one round in the kitchen.

The homeowner heard a vehicle stop in front of his house. He saw a black car stop by the driveway and someone fired between two and four shots. The car left the area, heading North on Masstown Rd. The witness could not see whether there was anyone else in the vehicle or provide any details about the vehicle itself. No one was hurt.

July 24, 2019, Wellington, Nova Scotia… Halifax District RCMP is investigating a stolen boat from a residence in Wellington. The boat was in the water and attached to a dock on Grand Lake.

Between 8 p.m. on July 19 and 7:30 a.m. on July 20, a boat was taken from a private dock in the back yard of a residence. The boat is described as a 23-foot 2018 Bennington triple pontoon boat with an outboard Evinrude 115 horsepower two-stroke motor. The dock lines were found cut and still attached to the cleats on the dock.

July 23, 2019, Lockeport, Nova Scotia . . . On July 19 at 2:30 a.m., Shelburne RCMP responded to a break and enter at a business in Lockeport.

Entry to the business was gained by prying open the back door. Two men entered the store, stole a garbage bin, and left. Their images were captured on surveillance video, however their faces were covered while they were in the store.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect 1 – Heavy set white male wearing light coloured work boots, dark pants and a black hoodie with a ‘Browning’ crest on the chest. He has a small tattoo on his right hand near the thumb.

Suspect 2 – Heavy set male, wearing a light coloured coat, possibly white, with black on the arms, jeans, and hiking shoes

Video surveillance from the store identified a grey GMC extended cab pickup truck that was driven by the suspects. Police determined later that day that the same truck had been reported stolen from a residence in Sable River. It was recovered on July 21, not far from the business and was examined by the Southwest Nova RCMP Forensic Identification Section.

Shelburne RCMP is requesting public assistance to help identify the suspects in these incidents, which police believe are related. July 23, 2019, Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia . . . On July 19 Kings District RCMP was advised by a fisherman that 50 of his traps had been taken from their location in the Bay of Fundy, near Isle Haute. Someone had replaced the buoys on his traps with their own buoys. The owner recovered 30 of the missing traps, but is still missing 20 traps, valued at $200 each.

Shortly after midnight on July 23, 2019 police responded to the 2600 block of Gottingen St. for a report of an injured male.  After investigation it was determined the male had been the victim of a robbery.  The 62 year old male victim had been walking with a walker in the area of the 5500 block of Black St. in Halifax when he was attacked by two males who came out of an alleyway.  One of the males hit him in the head with an unknown object.  The suspects then took the victim’s change purse.  The suspects were described as two black males and one male wore a light coloured head covering with a twist or a knot in the front.  K9 checked the area with negative results.

The male victim was taken by ambulance to the QE11 to be treated for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is in the preliminary stages.

Police are investigating an assault that occurred earlier today in Dartmouth.

At approximately 1 p.m. police were called to a report of an injured woman on Jamison Street in Dartmouth. At this time, it is believed that the 18-year-old Dartmouth woman was assaulted by another woman. She has been transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At approximately 2:45 p.m. a 28-year-old Dartmouth woman was taken into custody without incident at an address in the 100 block of Windmill road in Dartmouth. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a man in relation to a theft of money from a donation box in Halifax.

On May 20 at approximately 1:55 p.m., police received a report of a theft-in-progress at the Shoppers Drug Mart on Herring Cove Road. A man broke into a donation box located at the front of the store and stole a quantity of money from the box before fleeing the store. The money was being collected by a local charity.

The suspect is described as a white man in his twenties with a goatee. He was wearing an Under Armour baseball hat and a grey hoodie and was carrying a black backpack. Police are releasing photos of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

Police are investigating a robbery that occurred earlier today in Halifax.

At approximately 1:45 p.m. police located an injured man in the 2400 block of Gottingen Street in Halifax. At this time, it is believed that the 40-year-old Halifax man was injured as a result of a robbery. He has been transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a man in relation to an incident of property damage to a Halifax Transit bus that occurred last month in Dartmouth.

On June 16 at approximately 12:20 p.m., a man broke the passenger-side exterior mirror off a bus that had stopped at the bus stop on Alderney Drive before Prince Street. The man fled the area and was last seen heading up Prince Street toward Portland Street.

The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 6’5”, wearing a blue button-up shirt.

Police are releasing photos of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.
