The Government of the Province of Nova Scotia is offering rewards of up to one hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of Ronald Jack HENDERSON.

The victim, Ronald Jack Henderson, was a taxi driver in the city of Halifax for Armdale Taxi. On April 5, 1986, the night of his death, Mr. Henderson was working as a taxi driver, and it is believed he picked up two fares on Herring Cove Road, Halifax. An altercation took place in front of 90 Withrod Drive, between Mr. Henderson and the two fares, during which time Mr. Henderson was dumped on the side of the road suffering serious injuries. Mr. Henderson was transported to the hospital where he died as a result of injuries he received in the attack.

The investigation revealed that the suspects drove away in Mr. Henderson’s taxi cab, which was later discovered abandoned at a local school parking lot. Police believe there are persons who have information that could result in an arrest and possible charges.

On September 10, 1998, at 8:23 a.m., police responded to a report from several young students of an unconscious female in the wooded area, behind Harbourview School, 25 Alfred Street, Dartmouth. Upon police arrival, the victim, Margaret HARTRICK, was discovered lying unconscious in this wooded area. The victim had suffered trauma to the head area. The victim was transported to the QEII hospital, where she passed away as result of her injuries on September 18, 1998.

The investigation revealed that the victim was assaulted in the wooded area behind the school. Residents from the surrounding neighborhood reported hearing arguing earlier this same morning, and other residents reported hearing a car speeding from the area, which may be related to this incident.

On August 28, 1985, at 7:44 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting near the intersection of Windsor Street and Duncan Street, Halifax. Upon police arrival, the victim, Michael Leonard Hamm, was found deceased, having been fatally shot.

The investigation revealed the victim had left his Tower Road residence prior to the shooting and he was walking south on Windsor Street, near Duncan, when a lone suspect ran up to him and fired the fatal shot. A suspect was seen fleeing the area. Mr. Hamm had also been a victim of another shooting in May, which police have not yet ruled out as being connected to the incident. Police believe there are persons who have information that could result in an arrest and possible charges.

Steven Hall disappeared on Saturday, April 27, 1996. He left his parent’s home in Seffernville, Lunenburg County, around 10:30 AM. Mr. Hall paid a bill at the Ultramar in Chester Basin. While at the service station, Mr. Hall was seen having a brief conversation with a person in a vehicle at the gas pumps. Mr. Hall last seen hitchhiking on Highway #3 towards Chester.

Mr. Hall’s body was discovered on November 23, 1996, in a wooded area on the Hogg Lot Road, which is off Highway #14, approximately 13 kms North of the Chester area. This was seven months after his disappearance. It was determined that he died of unnatural causes. An extensive investigation ensued, however, no criminal charges have been laid. Although this investigation remains unsolved, it is still ongoing.

On June 30, 1981, at approximately 8:05 a.m., police responded to a report from a resident of John Street, Halifax, that there was a vehicle left running in front of 2454 John Street, with a male slumped across the front seat. Upon police arrival, the victim, 43 year old Vincent Griffin, was discovered deceased in his vehicle, having been the victim of a murder.

The investigation revealed the victim died as a result of injuries he received to the head and the neck area. The victim’s vehicle, a maroon 1977 dodge, 2 door hardtop, had been observed in the area shortly after midnight. Police believe there are persons who have information that could result in an arrest and possible charges.

During the evening of November 17, 1988, Suzanne Elizabeth DUBE, a 22 year old mother of two young children went missing from her residence in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. Suzanne DUBE left her children with a babysitter stating she had to “check something out” and would be back in a few minutes.

There were reported sightings of Suzanne DUBE in the area of the “The Load of Mischief” and the Club 2000 in Lower Sackville during the evening hours of November 17, and in the early morning hours of November 18, 1988. On March 25, 1989, Suzanne Dube’s decomposed body was found in the Bedford Basin, Bedford, Nova Scotia.

Upon police arrival, the victim, Donald Charles DOWNEY, was discovered at this location suffering from a gun shot wound. Mr. DOWNEY was transported to the hospital where he died shortly thereafter.

The investigation revealed Mr. DOWNEY was residing at an Abbey Road, Halifax, address at the time of his death, and he was known to frequent the north end of Halifax and Uniacke Square area where he was shot.

On February 8, 2005, at approximately 7:35 pm, police responded to a report of a shooting at 33 Dartmoor Crescent. Upon police arrival, police discovered the victim, Danny DiBENEDETTO, laying on his living room floor having suffered from a gun shot wound. Mr. DiBENEDETTO was conscious and he stated that three men entered his home, robbed and shot him before fleeing. Mr. DiBENEDETTO was transported to the QEII Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The investigation has revealed that three masked men were seen leaving the address.

On October 14, 2002, at approximately 5:30 pm, police responded to a report of two hunters who discovered human skeletal remains off a logging road near Dollar Lake Provincial Park, located on the Old Guysborough Road near the Halifax International Airport. The skeletal remains were later identified as those of the victim, Laura Lee CROSS.

The investigation revealed that the Ms. CROSS had last been seen on July 12, 2001, and she had been reported missing in August of 2001. Ms. CROSS had been living at 18 Middle Street, in Dartmouth, at the time of her disappearance.
