Police seek Driver who fled from Motor Vehicle Collision,

On Saturday, May 12 at approx. 1120 hrs, Halifax Regional Police attempted to stop a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign in the area of Bayview Rd and Woodbank Terrace, Halifax. The officer activated their emergency lights and siren and the driver did not pull over, the officer did not pursue the vehicle.

Police subsequently located the vehicle a short distance away, it had collided with a house in the 0-100 Block of Clayton Park Drive, Halifax. The driver, who was the lone occupant, fled the scene on foot, leaving the scene of the accident. A K9 track was attempted, however the suspect was not located.

No one was injured in the home.

The suspect is described as black male, 20-30 years-old, approximately 6 ft tall, he was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans at the time of the incident.

The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information about this incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to call police at 902-490-5016. May 2, 2018, Birchtown, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia . . . On April 24, Shelburne RCMP responded to a suspicious fire on Hwy. 3 in Birchtown. Investigators worked with the Fire Marshal to determine the fire was suspicious. Witnesses told police they saw a small car leaving the area between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. that evening, and police need help from the public to identify the vehicle and the occupants. No other descriptors are available at this time. The building that was burnt was a home that had been unoccupied. No one was hurt as a result of the fire.

Break Enter & Theft Auld’s Cove NS.

On April 29 at 12:40 a.m., a single suspect gained entry to a store in Auld’s Cove via the roof of the building. He took a quantity of cigarettes then police believe he fled the area in a vehicle. An RCMP police dog was called to the scene to locate a track, but was unsuccessful.

The suspect appeared to be male, and was wearing a grey and black striped hoodie, with the hood up, partially obscuring his face. He was wearing light brown and black work gloves, dark pants and black and white athletic shoes.

Springhill RCMP are looking for information regarding vehicle mischief

Sometime late April 25th to early April 26th 2018, unknown person(s) entered onto a property in Springhill on McGee street and smashed the windows of a vehicle in the yard; the passenger side window and the rear window were smashed along with scratches all over the car.

Police investigate stolen firearms

Members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating a break and enter that occurred in Halifax last week.

On April 20, at 11:08 p.m., police responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence on Thornhill Drive in Halifax that is believed to have occurred sometime between, April 18 and when the call was received. Several items were taken, including three firearms.

Members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of 114 Woodlawn Dr. Dartmouth.

At 1523hrs police responded to a report of a shooting that had just occurred at 114 Woodlawn Dr. Dartmouth. Investigators determined that a victim had been shot. A male victim in his twenties was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

April 16, 2018, Lower Truro, Nova Scotia . . . At 5 p.m. on April 12, a man entered a store on Robie St. and stole two barcode scanners, which are the devices used by store employees to verify prices and determine inventory. The value of the two devices is approximately $3600.00.

The suspect is described as male, 40 to 45 years old, 6-foot-2 with a large build, brown skin, and a beard. He left the store in a small dark-coloured sedan in an unknown direction of travel. His image was captured on the store’s surveillance video.

Tires, rims, and trailer stolen

April 13, 2018, Brooklyn, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia . . . Annapolis District RCMP is investigating a theft from a car dealership on Brooklyn Rd. in Annapolis Co. In the early morning hours of February 27, a number of truck tires and rims, as well as a car trailer were stolen. The RCMP is asking for the public to assist by providing information about the location of the stolen items and the person(s) responsible for the theft. Together, the truck, rims, and trailer are valued at approximately $16,000.

Help the RCMP identify ATM thieves

April 9, 2018, Brierly Brook, Antigonish County, Nova Scotia . . . On April 7, Antigonish District RCMP responded to a call indicating someone had found Automated Teller Machines – three in total – on their property. The machines had been left there between Friday April 6 at 4 p.m. and Saturday April 7 at 5 p.m. The ATMs were found down an embankment on a remote property. Police had to request a tow truck to retrieve the machines and bring them to the detachment to have them examined by Forensic Identification Technicians.

Investigators are asking the public to assist with the investigation. Police investigate after shot fired at home

April 9, 2018, North Preston, Nova Scotia … Halifax District RCMP responded to a complaint at 2:42 a.m. on Sunday morning, after receiving a 911 call of a home being shot at.

Five people, including a young child, were not injured after someone fired a single gunshot at the window of a home on Cain St. in North Preston. As a result, the window and interior of the home was damaged.

The investigation is ongoing, being led by the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division with assistance from the RCMP Forensic Identification Unit.
