Theft of Pontoon Boat, Parrsboro

August 11, 2020, Spencer’s Island, Nova Scotia… Parrsboro RCMP is investigating a recent theft of a pontoon boat and two motors from Old Shipyard Beach Campground in Spencer’s Island.

The theft occurred at the campground on August 10 sometime between the hours of 3 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. A description of the stolen items is below:

 

  • 2015 Legend Pontoon Boat, Model: Splash + Flex with serial number: APX19854C515

 

  • Outboard Mercury motor (attached to boat). Model: 1A30413EK with serial number: OR629913

 

  • Outboard Suzuki motor (not attached to boat) Model: DF2.5 with serial number: 00251F-893771

Arson, Cumberland County

April 19, 2019, New Salem, Nova Scotia… Cumberland RCMP is investigating an arson that occurred on South Branch Road in New Salem.

At 5:05 a.m. yesterday, RCMP and Advocate and District Volunteer Fire Brigade responded to the scene of a barn that was on fire. The investigation determined the fire to be suspicious in nature. No one was injured as a result of the fire and the investigation is ongoing.

Break & Enter

Medical alert device used to report break and enter

January 28, 2019, Little River, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia . . . An 83-year-old woman was in her home on December 9, 2018, when she heard a loud bang shortly before 2 a.m. She then heard people going to the basement of her home, then towards her bedroom. She called out to see who it was, then heard male voices yelling “go, go, go”, and heard multiple people running from her home. The woman was not able to see the numbers on the phone and used her medical alert device to call for help.

Police arrived a short time later and noted that a vehicle had entered several driveways and backed out again. A break and enter was reported in the area later that day.

Springhill RCMP are looking for information regarding vehicle mischief

Sometime late April 25th to early April 26th 2018, unknown person(s) entered onto a property in Springhill on McGee street and smashed the windows of a vehicle in the yard; the passenger side window and the rear window were smashed along with scratches all over the car.
