Officers are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man who approached a girl earlier today in
Halifax.
At 1.pm. on January 25th, police were advised that at 11:52. am. a 13-year-old girl was walking on
Prescott Street, near Duffus Street, when she noticed that a man was following her. She continued to
walk toward the corner of Duffus Street and Agricola Street, she was walking quickly and the male did
not continue to follow her. The girl did not know the man, she returned to her school Highland Park
School located at 3479 Robie Street. The girl advised school staff who called the police.
The man is described as a black man in his 30s, approximately 5’10” in height, wearing black jeans, a
black winter hat described as a “beanie”, dark sunglasses, and carrying a black back pack.

Investigators are asking anyone who has any information on this incident, to contact police by calling

Sometime between January 19 and January 21 work truck owned by K-LINE Const was broken into at an open parking lot civic 4481  hwy 316 St. Andrews.

January 22, 2024, Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia… RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is seeking information in relation to a robbery that occurred in Cole Harbour.

On January 19, at approximately 8:40 p.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment responded to a report of a robbery at a pawn shop on Cole Harbour Rd. near John Stewart Dr. RCMP officers learned that a man entered the store, pulled a hammer from his pants, and smashed jewelry display cases to retrieve the contents. The man then fled the scene on foot with more than $60,000 in jewelry.

More than ten people were present inside the business at the time of the robbery. No physical injuries were reported.

The man involved in the robbery is described as white, between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9 and of slim build. He was wearing black clothing, a black balaclava and white shoes.

The investigation is ongoing.

On January 19^th, 2024, the Municipality of Cumberland County reported two utility trailers were stolen from a secure compound behind their building in Upper Nappan, NS. Suspect vehicle in the theft is a red coloured Dodge Ram truck.

The stolen trailers are described as:

One black 2006 Weberlane dual axle flatbed trailer with a wooden deck, a metal box affixed near the tongue, two load ramps, and a pintle hitch. The trailer bears Nova Scotia trailer plate R24920. (Photo attached)

The last trailer was observed being towed westbound on the 104 Highway, from Amherst, Nova Scotia towards New Brunswick.

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a shooting that occurred in Dartmouth this weekend.

On January 21, police received a report of a shooting that had occurred in the area of Burnside and Commodore drives on January 20 at approximately 1:30 a.m. The suspects approached a vehicle stopped at the intersection and fired a number of rounds at the vehicle as they passed by.  A number of rounds struck the victim’s vehicle. There were no reported injuries.

The suspect vehicle is described as a black four door sedan with tinted windows and a lowered suspension.

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a robbery that occurred in Dartmouth early this morning.

At approximately 2:35 a.m., officers responded to a robbery that had occurred at the Ultramar Gas station at 640 Windmill Road. A man with a knife entered the store, threatened the employee and demanded money. The suspect fled the area on foot with an amount of cash and cigarettes. The victim was not physically injured.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s, approximately 5’8” tall with a slim build and wearing a white jacket.

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a robbery that occurred in Halifax this weekend.

On January 20, officers responded to a robbery that had occurred at approximately 1:25 a.m. in a parking lot in the 3400 block of Kempt Road. Two men entered a parked vehicle, threatened the driver and demanded property. The suspects fled the area with the victim’s property in another vehicle.  The victim was not physically injured.

The suspects are described as white men, driving a white Volkswagen Passat with tinted windows.

January 22, 2024, Halifax, Nova Scotia… Nova Scotia RCMP’s Commercial Crime Section has identified a recent trend in the province where vendors have been receiving large-volume or expensive orders for tires and other high-value items, which are paid for using a stolen or compromised credit cards.

A charge-back dispute is made against the vendor by the credit card company for a fraudulent transaction, in some cases after the product has been shipped through a pre-arranged transportation company.

Vendors should review the terms of their agreements with credit card companies, as often transactions where the credit card is not present are subject to charge-back, should it be determined the credit card was used without authorization from the true cardholder.

January 22, 2024, Tupperville, Nova Scotia… Annapolis District RCMP is investigating a break-in that resulted in the theft of guitars and artwork valued at over $10,000.

On January 3, Annapolis District RCMP responded to a report of a break-in at a residence on Hwy. 201 in Tupperville. RCMP officers learned that a garage on the property had been broken into and several items were stolen, including two custom-made guitars and a painting by local Mi’kmaq artist Alan Syliboy.

Kings District RCMP investigates an Assault on a police officer

January 19, 2024, New Minas, Nova Scotia… Kings District RCMP is investigating an Assault on a police officer that occurred in New Minas.

On January 18, at 1:53 a.m., a Kings District RCMP officer observed a blue 2010 Hyundai Tucson being driven erratically on Highbury Rd. and conducted a traffic stop. 

During the traffic stop, to verify level of impairment, the officer demanded the male driver exit the vehicle to provide breath samples into an approved screening device. The driver refused and fled the scene, driving over the officer’s foot.

The officer attempted to complete another traffic stop with the vehicle but the driver refused to stop. The suspect’s vehicle appeared to have mechanical issues and came to a stop on the exit 12 ramp. The suspect fled on foot.

A search of the area was conducted by Kings District RCMP, with the assistance from RCMP Police Dog Services, but the search was unsuccessful.

The suspect’s vehicle was towed to the New Minas RCMP Detachment where it will ne examined by the RCMP Forensic Identification Services.

The officer was injured and treated at the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The officer has since been released from hospital.

The suspect is still at large.
