April 15, 2021, Wolfville, N.S…Kings District RCMP is asking for public help to locate a person of interest in a mischief investigation in Wolfville.

On April 13, 2021 at 2:40 p.m., Kings District RCMP received a report of a disturbance at a grocery store on Main St. in Wolfville. Police attended and learned that a person took a sign from the street and smashed the front door of the store. The person then went into the entrance of the store, took a cart and rammed the cart into the second door which enters the store.

No injuries were reported and only one of the doors was damaged.

Police have identified that the suspect was wearing a trapper’s style fur cap, a long dark coat, light brown coloured pants, dark gloves and running shoes.

April 12, 2021, North Preston, Nova Scotia…The Integrated RCMP/HRP General Investigation Section (GIS) of the Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a report of shots fired yesterday in North Preston.

At approximately 4:55 p.m. on April 11, Halifax District RCMP responded to a report of shots fired on Downey Rd. Police located a damaged vehicle, but no injuries were reported. The suspect vehicle departed the scene prior to police arriving. The suspect vehicle is described as a black car.

The investigation is ongoing and being led by the RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.

At approximately 5:55 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of possible gun shots in the area of Barrington Street and Richmond Street, Halifax.  A dark coloured sedan was observed leaving the area at high rate of speed toward the MacDonald Bridge.  Multiple patrol officers and members of the Emergency Response Team responded and confirmed a shooting had taken place.  At 6:15 p.m., the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital reported a 25-year-old male with non-life-threatening gun shot wound arrived at the hospital, which has gone into lock down.

There is no suspect description currently.

Officers are currently on scene and at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital.   We ask that people avoid the area of Barrington Street and Richmond Street, Halifax.

Investigators with the General Investigation Section and the Forensic Identification Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation.  The investigation is in its preliminary stages and is ongoing.

At 4:30 p.m., on the 10^th of April, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a Break & Enter in progress, in the 100 block of Princess Margaret Blvd. Dartmouth.   Two masked suspects dressed in black, one armed with a firearm, forced their way into a home and took items from the occupants.  The suspects fled to a white four door car that sped toward Windmill Road.

Multiple patrol officers and the Emergency Response Team responded.  The Emergency Response Team cleared the residence and confirmed no one was injured.  While searching for the suspects officers located a long-barreled firearm near the residence on the street.  However, officers were not able to locate the suspects or vehicle.  The suspects are described as:

Suspect – Male, 6’0”, heavy build.  Wearing: Black jacket and pants, black ski mask.

Suspect – Male, 5’7”, thin build.  Wearing: Black jacket and pants, black ski mask.

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation which is in the early stages.

April 8, 2021, Half Island Cove, Nova Scotia…Guysborough County District RCMP is investigating an arson that occurred on Canso Branch road in Half Island Cove.

On April 6, 2021 at 5:45 p.m., the RCMP received a report of two camps being burned down on Canso Branch Road. Initial investigation indicates that the fire to both camps was deliberately set. The fire is believed to have been set between April 4 and 5, 2021.

April 7, 2021, Timberlea, Nova Scotia… Halifax District RCMP is investigating a break, enter and theft of windows and doors that occurred recently in Timberlea.

Sometime between 4 p.m. on April 3, and 7:30 a.m. on April 5, a home under construction on Marketway Lane was broken into. The suspect(s) stole three exterior doors, seven black-framed windows of various sizes, window screens and other building material. All the stolen doors and windows were inside the home, but had not yet been installed.

Police seek the public’s assistance in locating a man in relation to a robbery

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a man with an arrest warrant for a robbery that occurred in Halifax last week.

On March 26 at approximately 6 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to a weapons complaint in the 200 block of Wentworth Drive in Halifax. Officers located four men in two vehicles at that location, one of whom was injured. Three of the men were arrested and the fourth man fled on foot. Two of the men, the injured man and another man, were released without charges a short time later. The injured man had non-life-threatening injuries and declined medical treatment. The third man, Derrick Coryaunt Allison, 30, of Halifax, was charged with drug and firearm related offences

An arrest warrant for robbery has been issued for Robert Roech Chan, 28, of Halifax, the fourth man who fled on foot.

Monday marks the 35th anniversary of the murder of Ronald Jack Henderson and the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the case.

On April 5, 1986, police responded to a report of an injured person at 90 Withrod Drive in Halifax. Officers located Ronald suffering from life-threatening-injuries, and he was transported to hospital where he later died.

Ronald had been working as a taxi driver with Armdale Taxi, and at the time, he picked up two passengers on Herring Cove Road in Halifax. Investigators believe an altercation occurred in front of 90 Withrod Drive. The passengers took Ronald’s taxi and left Ronald seriously injured by the side of the road. Ronald’s taxi  was later located abandoned in a local school parking lot.

Investigators believe there are people who have information about Ronald’s murder. We hope that the passage of time will encourage someone to come forward with what they know; it is never too late and what might seem like an insignificant detail may help progress the investigation.

Ronald’s case is part of Nova Scotia Department of Justice Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program which offers cash rewards of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for specified major unsolved crimes. Callers must contact the Rewards Program at 1-888-710-9090, must provide their name and contact information, and may be called to testify in court. All calls will be recorded. The amount of the award will be based on the investigative value of the information provided.

 

At 9:30 p.m., 29th March, 2021, Halifax Regional Police responded to an armed robbery at Leonardo’s Convenience Store, 95 Caledonia Road, Dartmouth.  1 male suspect entered the store, produced a knife, and demanded money. Suspect did not get any money, but did take scratch tickets and several bags of dog food.  Suspect was last seen leaving the area on foot, heading towards Main Street.  No one was injured.

Patrol officers and investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are completing preliminary investigation and actively searching for the suspect.  Suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’6”, 30-40 years old, wearing a black face mask, black winter jacket, grey hoodie, black jeans, white sneakers, carrying a green reusable shopping bag.

Sometime between March 20th 2021 and March 22nd 2021, a white 2006 Suzuki GSXR1000 was stolen from a residence in Simms Settlement, Lunenburg County.
