RCMP investigates mischief to lobster traps

May 3, 2021, Petit-de-Grat, Nova Scotia…Richmond County District RCMP is investigating mischief to lobster traps that occurred in the waters off Petit-de-Grat.

Between 5:00 p.m. on April 29 and 8:00 a.m. on April 30, 2021, Richmond County District RCMP received a report of 40 lobster traps being cut off their buoys near Petit-de-Grat. The traps could not be recovered. The total loss of the traps and the catch contained within is approximately $10,000.00.

Investigators have identified a person of interest, and the investigation is ongoing.
