Halifax District RCMP investigating after shooting in North Preston

August 8, 2021, North Preston, Nova Scotia…Halifax District RCMP is investigating after responding to a shooting on North Preston Rd. in North Preston.

At 6:02 p.m. this evening, police received a report of a shooting on North Preston Rd. Police responded and learned that approximately ten shots had been fired in the area. No one was injured as a result.

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by the Halifax Integrated Guns and Gangs Unit, which is comprised of members of the RCMP and Halifax Regional Police. The investigation is being supported by RCMP Forensic Identification Services.

At approximately 2:07 p.m. today, police received a report of a shooting on Downey Rd. Police responded and learned that a black Subaru Imprezza had been shot at numerous times by another vehicle. The Imprezza suffered damage as a result of the gunshots. The Imprezza had a number of occupants in the vehicle at the time but no one was injured. The suspect vehicle fled the area and was also occupied by a number of people.

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by the Halifax Integrated Guns and Gangs Unit, which is comprised of members of the RCMP and Halifax Regional Police. The investigation is being supported by RCMP Forensic Identification Services.

Cheticamp RCMP asking for help to identify ATV

August 6, 2021, Cheticamp, Nova Scotia…The Cheticamp RCMP are asking for help from the public to identify an ATV and its operator that fled from police.

Around midnight on July 17, police were on patrol on the Cabot Trail when they observed an ATV driving down the road at a high rate of speed heading toward them. Police engaged their lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the ATV, which fled through a private yard. The ATV struck a well head which resulted in the driver being ejected. The driver returned to the ATV and fled into the woods, leaving behind a helmet and clothing.

RCMP investigating after boats cut from their moorings in Weymouth

August 6, 2021, Weymouth, Nova Scotia…Digby RCMP is investigating after receiving a report of boats being cut from their moorings at a wharf in Weymouth.

On August 5 at 7:57 a.m.,Digby RCMP received a complaint of eight boats being cut from their moorings at a wharf in Weymouth sometime overnight. Police arrived at 8:09 a.m. and learned that ten boats had in fact been cut from their moorings and that all boats had been retrieved by their owners. None of the boats were damaged, however, a lobster crate containing approximately $800.00 worth of lobster was stolen from one of the boats.

The investigation is ongoing and is being supported by RCMP Special Tactical Operations and Street Crime Enforcement investigators. Police seek assistance in identifying robbery suspect

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a robbery that occurred in Halifax yesterday.

At approximately 11 a.m. police responded to a robbery in the 3500 block of Claremont Street. The suspect approached a woman in her 60s from behind, pushed her to the ground and continued to assault her. The suspect took the woman’s wallet and fled the area on foot, running north on Claremont Street and crossing Connolly Street.

The suspect is described as a white woman with a slim build, approximately 25-years-old, with blonde hair in a short ponytail. At the time of the robbery, she was wearing a white shirt, jeans and a black mask over her face.

RCMP looking for public’s help is solving Elmsdale Arsons

Enfield RCMP is investigating two arsons in their area.

On 2021-06-25 @  01:53 hrs  East Hants RCMP were dispatched to a vehicle fire at a construction business on highway 2 in Elmsdale NS .  Investigation revealed that two trucks were burned and were a complete loss.  Another truck had heat damage.  Police file 2021-904183 refers.

On 2021-07-21 @ 01:38 hrs East Hants RCMP dispatched to a dump truck on fire at the same construction business on highway 2 in Elmsdale NS.  The truck was parked  in close proximity of a  building that occupies a licensed daycare.  There was no damage to the building.   The dump truck was a complete loss. Halifax Regional Police officer’s badge reported stolen

Halifax Regional Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a stolen HRP badge.

An off-duty officer reported that their badge was stolen sometime Tuesday night in to Wednesday morning. It was stolen from the 3000 block of Connaught Avenue.

RCMP investigate arson

July 26, 2021, Bangor, Nova Scotia…The Meteghan RCMP is investigating an arson that occurred in Bangor.

At 3:30 a.m. on July 24, Meteghan RCMP and the Meteghan Fire Department were called to a structure fire at a home on Bangor Rd. The three occupants were able to escape safely. The fire was determined to be suspicious in nature and no one was injured in the fire.

The investigation is ongoing.

Help RCMP solve theft from construction site

July 23, 2021, Trafalgar, Nova Scotia… Halifax District RCMP is investigating a theft of equipment from a construction site in Trafalgar.

Between July 5 and July 20, several items were stolen and property damaged at a construction site on Hwy. 374. Stolen items include a 40 feet by 10 feet Alantra trailer, a 2019 Multiquip 15kw diesel generator, a red 1000-litre Battlefield fuel cube, copper wire and an air conditioning unit.

Police Investigate Weapons Call (Shooting) in Dartmouth

On July 21st, 2021, at approximately 2:30 am, Halifax Regional Police responded to a weapons complaint in the area of Highfield Park Drive at Victoria Road, Dartmouth.  

Several patrol officers attended the area and located the targeted vehicle. Neither the driver nor the passenger in the targeted vehicle were injured. Confirmed evidence of a recent shooting. Suspect vehicle was no longer in the area.

Investigators with the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation.  The investigation is in its preliminary stages and is ongoing.  The intersection at Highfield Park Drive at Victoria Road is currently closed in all directions, pending completion of investigation.
