Police are looking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a theft that occurred last month at NSCC, Woodlawn Rd., Dartmouth.

On April 18, police received a report of a theft that had occurred the previous day at approximately 2 p.m., at the Nova Scotia Community College located at 21 Woodlawn Road in Dartmouth. An unknown man broke into students’ lockers and stole property. The man then exited the school and left the area in a vehicle.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 40’s wearing a beige ball hat, brown bomber style coat, white striped shirt, dark pants and brown shoes. The suspect left in a 2007-2010 gray Hyundai Santa Fe with grey alloy rims.

Police investigate Dartmouth shooting

At 3:05 a.m. on Saturday May 25, 2019, Halifax Regional Police received a report of someone shot at 0-20 block of Chebucto Lane in Dartmouth.  Officers responded to the area and found a man who had been shot.  The male was transported by EHS to the QE11 Health Sciences Centre where he remains in stable condition.

At this time the investigation is in the preliminary stages and more information will be released when available.

RCMP investigates the theft of a motorcycle

May 21, 2019, Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia… Halifax District RCMP is investigating the theft of a motorcycle from a residence on Virginia Dr. on May 18.

Between 12 a.m. and 3 p.m. on May 18, 2019, a black 1982 Honda Nighthawk CB450SC motorcycle with Nova Scotia licence 151590 was stolen from the driveway of a residence on Virginia Dr.

The motorcycle had custom burgundy leather upholstery on the seat.

Police investigate a robbery at an ATM in Dartmouth

On Saturday May 18, 2019 at approximately 1:23 p.m. police attended the Scotia Bank at 93 Portland St. in Dartmouth for a report of a robbery at the ATM.  The female victim was getting money from the ATM when she was approached by a female suspect who asked for money for a taxi.  The female victim gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash and the female suspect then demanded more money.  The female suspect then began pushing the victim.  The female suspect also indicated there was a weapon in a car parked outside the bank.

No weapons were seen by the victim.

The female then fled the bank with a male driver in a white older model vehicle.

The female suspect was described as a black female in her late 20’s, small build and around 5’4” tall, appeared to be pregnant wearing a black zip up hoodie with multi-colour patterned tights.  The male driver was described as a male in his 20’s wearing a hoodie with the hood up.

The female victim did not report any injuries.

Weapons Complaint

At approx. 12:42am a male entered Roberts Pizza, 364 Windmill Rd, Dartmouth with a firearm. The suspect made comments looking for another male who was not in the business. There was an altercation with a staff member and the suspect left the business. The staff member received a minor injury and was treated by EHS at the scene. Shortly after, a 29 year old male was arrested in the 300 block of Windmill Rd for Weapons offences and assault. At this time the investigation is ongoing.

Home invasion investigated by police

May 20,2019, Valley, Colchester County, Nova Scotia… Just before 5 a.m. on May 18, Colchester RCMP responded to a 911 call of a home invasion at a residence on Salmon River Rd. in Valley.

Multiple adults were in the residence when two males entered the home with their faces covered, produced a firearm and proceeded to rob them. One victim was tied up. The two suspects departed the home after taking cash from the victims.

The RCMP was called and quickly arrived at the scene. Police did not locate the suspects and are continuing their efforts to find them. No one was hurt during the incident. The suspects are described as two white males.

The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by Colchester RCMP General Investigative Section.

On May 13, 2019, Pictou RCMP received a report of a theft of tools from a utility trailer that had been at  MacKenzie Road, Black Point, Pictou County. The trailer was parked at a cottage lot and the owner was conducting some renovations on the cottage. It was left around noon on Sunday May 12th, and the theft was discovered the following morning around 9:00 AM. 

Missing are various carpentry tools. Almost all were Dewalt brand and in total, are valued at close to $30,000.

The stolen items include:

Dewalt–brand table

reciprocating and skill saws

a number of 18,

20 and 60-volt Dewalt batteries

a 4000 and 7500-watt generator

extension cords

aluminum work benches

step ladders

among other numerous items.

Monday May 13, 2019, Chester RCMP received a report of a break, enter & theft of an ATV at 153 Maple Lane in Mill Road, Nova Scotia. Sheds and cottage were broken into between May 5th and 13h. Below AVT was stolen from the shed.The ATV was a red 2001 Honda Ranger ATV with N.S. plate FY481 was stolen from the shed.

Human remains located in New Minas

May 16, 2019, New Minas, Nova Scotia . . . At 10 a.m. today, Kings District RCMP received a report of found human remains of a male individual near the end of Jones Rd. in New Minas. RCMP members attended the area and were able to retrieve the remains from the Cornwallis River.

The RCMP is working with the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Service and an autopsy will be conducted. The remains have not been positively identified. The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by Kings District RCMP in conjunction with the Kentville Police Service.
