Police Investigate Robbery – Halifax

At 1:30 a.m., on the 14th of August, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a robbery at Needs, 5881 Duffus Street, Halifax.  A male armed with a knife demanded money and cigarettes.  No one was injured.  The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes.  Multiple patrol units and a Police Service Dogs responded.  Officers searched the area, but have not located the suspect.  The suspect is described as: 

Suspect – White Male, medium build, 5’7″, 30 yrs.

                  Wearing: Black hat, mask, black and red jacket.

Police seeking public assistance to identify three men involved in a home invasion

August 12, 2022, Gaetz Brook, Nova Scotia… Halifax District RCMP responds to a report of a home invasion that occurred in Gaetz Brook.

Shortly after midnight this morning, Halifax District RCMP responded to a report of a home invasion on Haven Ln. in Gaetz Brook. RCMP officers learned that three woman and two men were present at the home when they were abruptly disturbed by three men, who had suddenly entered the home.

One of the three men, brandished a handgun, informed the occupants that it was a robbery. The men then restrained the five occupants, assaulted one of the male occupants and demanded money before ransacking the residence.

The assailants, who took beer and a small quantity of Cannabis, then fled the scene in a Kia Rondo that they stole from the property. The vehicle was later recovered by RCMP officers in North Preston.

The 47-year-old Gaetz Brook man suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS.

The three men are described as black. At the time of the robbery they were wearing masks and black hoodies.

Investigators do not believe this act to be random.

The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of RCMP Forensic Identification Services.

Police investigate assault

Halifax Regional Police is investigating an assault that occurred at the Halifax Common Aquatics Facility last month and are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

On July 8 at approximately 7:10 p.m. officers responded to an assault that had just occurred at the outdoor pool at the Halifax Common Aquatics Facility. A man assaulted a 15-year-old lifeguard when they approached him in relation to pool policies. The man left the area in a vehicle prior to officers arriving on scene.

The suspect was described as Black, 40 to 50 years old, approximately 250 lbs., tattoos on both arms, short beard and long black hair that was tied back. The suspect vehicle is described as a black four-door Honda Civic.

Meteghan RCMP looking for help to locate a stolen trailer

Meteghan RCMP received a report of the stolen black Roadmaster trailer from a business located in Comeauville.  The theft occurred in the early hours on July 22, 2023.

Police investigate robbery

Police are investigating a robbery that occurred yesterday afternoon in Dartmouth.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. officers responded to a report of a robbery that had just occurred at the No Frills store located at 118 Wyse Road in Dartmouth. A man entered the store, stole product, and threatened a staff member with sensory irritant and a knife when approached. He ran out of the store with stolen merchandise inside a green reusable shopping bag. The staff member was not physically injured.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s, approximately 5’7″ tall with light blonde facial hair and a thin build. He was wearing a dark baseball cap, red t-shirt and dark pants. He was last seen fleeing the area on a red bicycle.

Halifax District RCMP seeking information on robbery in Fall River

August 1, 2023, Fall River, Nova Scotia… Halifax District RCMP is seeking information in relation to a robbery that occurred in Fall River.

On July 30, at approximately 9 p.m., Halifax District RCMP responded to a report of a robbery at a gas station located on Hwy. 2 in Fall River. RCMP officers learned that a woman entered the gas station, presented a handgun and demanded money. The woman then fled the scene in a sedan, driven by a man, with cash, cigarettes and lighters. The store employee was not physically injured.

The woman is believed to be between the ages of 25-35 and is described as 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6 with a slim build. At the time of the robbery, she had long brown hair and was wearing a grey tank top, three quarter length black leggings, a ball hat and was carrying a blue and white bag.

The man driving the vehicle is believed to be in his 30’s, had tattoos on his neck, and had his hair in a ponytail.

The investigation is ongoing.

Man wanted on province-wide arrest warrant

August 1, 2023, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia… Halifax District RCMP has obtained a warrant for the arrest of a man in connection with an incident of criminal harassment and trespassing that occurred in East River St. Marys in April of this year.

Burt “Dangulo” Thompson, 47, from North Preston, is charged with two counts of Failure to Comply with an Undertaking.

Police have made several attempts to locate Thompson, and are requesting assistance from the public.

Police investigate indecent acts

Halifax Regional Police is investigating two indecent acts that occurred last week in Dartmouth.

On July 28 at approximately 4:45 a.m., police received a report of an indecent act that had just occurred in the area of Nantucket Avenue and Victoria Road. A man in the area was seen exposing himself to passersby. Police received a similar report a short time later at approximately 6:15 a.m. in the same area.

The suspect is described as a white man, long brown hair in a ponytail, wearing a brown jacket and pants.

Southwest Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit investigating homicide

July 28, 2023, Parkdale, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia…The Southwest Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit is investigating a homicide.

On July 26, 2023, at approximately 2:45 p.m., Lunenburg District RCMP responded to a report of human remains being located in Parkdale, Lunenburg County, near New Ross. Investigators have determined that the remains are those of a man and the death has been ruled a homicide.

The investigation is being led by the Southwest Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit and is being supported by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office, RCMP Forensic Identification Services and Lunenburg District RCMP.

Police investigate sexual assault

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a sexual assault that occurred yesterday in Halifax.

At approximately 6:15 p.m., police received a report of a sexual assault that had occurred in the area of the Camp Hill Cemetery at 1600 Summer Street. While in the area, a man approached a woman who was not known to him and touched her in a sexual manner.

The suspect is described as a man in his 40s, approximately 5’8” tall with a greying goatee and wearing a red shirt, blue shorts and flip flops.

We are not releasing further details out of respect and concern for the victim’s privacy and well-being.
