The Government of the Province of Nova Scotia is offering rewards of up to one hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of Jason Robert BARKHOUSE.

In the early morning of June 26, 1980, a culprit(s) entered Mr. Barkhouse’s residence in East Dalhousie and severely assaulted him, resulting in his death. A female acquaintance who was at the residence at the time of the unlawful entry was also severely assaulted. The investigation revealed that Mr. Barkhouse had also been assaulted weeks prior to this incident.

Police believe there are persons who have information that could result in an arrest and possible charges.

The Government of the Province of Nova Scotia is offering rewards of up to one hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of John Francis ALQUIROS.

On April 19, 2002, at approximately 11:00 am, police responded to a report of three youths who discovered a body while walking in the area of the Greenhead Road extension, located off Highway 103 in Timberlea. John Francis ALQUIROS was the confirmed victim.

The investigation revealed that the Greenhead Road extension was the actual site of the murder and Mr. ALQUIROS died of gun shot wounds. Greenhead Road is a rural area approximately one kilometer from residential housing and is often used for hiking and all-terrain vehicle use.

The Government of the Province of Nova Scotia is offering rewards of up to one hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of Leon Anthony ADAMS.

On May 22, 2005, at approximately 04:20 am, police responded to a report of an injured person in a residence at 6025 Lady Hammond Road, Halifax. Upon police arrival, the victim, Leon Anthony ADAMS, was discovered laying in a hallway, having suffered from a gun shot wound. Mr. ADAMS, who lived at 6025 Lady Hammond Road, was transported to the QEII Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The investigation revealed that Mr. ADAMS had been home earlier in the evening on May 21, 2005. Mr. ADAMS is believed to have left the residence for a brief period sometime after midnight before returning home, where he was shot.

At approximately 8:48 p.m. on July 29th, 2012, RCMP responded to a 911 call of an injured man on Downey Road in North Preston. Upon responding to the call, police found an adult man suffering from a gun shot wound. The man was transported to the QEII Hospital where he died of his injuries.

At approximately 7:45 p.m. on Oct. 25, 2011, Mr. Phalen left his home on Mechanic Street, Trenton, and drove to the local convenience store. Mr. Phalen was shot and killed minutes later outside his residence. Police believe that the suspect or suspects were waiting for Mr. Phalen to return home. Witnesses heard gunshots and saw a suspect fleeing the scene on foot. At the time of the shooting, Mr. Phalen’s wife and children were inside their home.

Shortly after 5 p.m. on February 20, 2009, police responded to a 911 call of an injured man on Whitehead Road in Harrietsfield. Upon responding to the call, police found an adult man who had been shot and died as a result of the injuries.

Shortly after 6:20 a.m. on December 9, 2006, David Hannan was found lying unconscious behind Harbourview School in Dartmouth. Mr. Hannan was transported to hospital where he died two days later. An autopsy later determined that Mr. Hannan was the victim of a homicide, and police believe the incident occurred where he was found. Mr. Hannan had been with friends at a Dartmouth residence earlier in the night.

On April 24, 2011, members of the RCMP responded to reports of gunshots fired, and a male wounded, on Churchill Terrace, North Preston, Nova Scotia. When officers arrived, they located a 21 year old, Nathan Cross, unconscious and unresponsive. Mr. Cross was transported to hospital by paramedics and passed away from the gunshot wound he received. The investigation revealed that Mr. Cross had been injured while standing outside with a group of individuals when a suspect ambushed the group, firing several shots at them.

On July 21 , 2007, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Halifax Regional Police were sent to investigate a complaint about gunshots fired in the Maynard and Woodill Street area. The police found Glenn Bourgeois when they arrived at the scene. Mr. Bourgeois received several gunshot wounds and later died from his injuries. The police investigation revealed that two black males were seen fleeing the area immediately after the shooting, one of which had a firearm in his hand.

On June 1, 2008, at 3:30 a.m., Halifax Regional Police were sent to a call behind the YMCA on Gottingen Street, Halifax. Daniel Newman was found deceased as a result of stabbing injuries he received. The police investigation has uncovered little information about who may be responsible for this crime.
