September 5, 2020, Hubley, Nova Scotia…Halifax District RCMP is asking for the public’s help to solve a theft of construction equipment in Hubley.

Sometime on the weekend of August 8-10, various construction equipment was stolen from a shed at a home on St. Margaret’s Bay Rd. The suspect(s) may have been driving a silver SUV. The stolen items below have an estimated value of more than $40,000:

Police investigate robbery
Halifax Regional Police is investigating a robbery that occurred last night in Dartmouth.
At 8:45 p.m. on September 3rd, officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Wilson’s Esso
on the Go, located at 174 Ochterloney St, in Dartmouth.

A man entered the store and produced a knife and then demanded the clerk give him cartons of cigarettes and the money from the
cash register. He was last seen leaving on foot towards Prince Albert Road.
The employee was not injured.

The suspect is described as a white man with a stocky build, tattoos around his eyes, and on his
hands. He was wearing a camo jacket, burgundy hoodie, khaki pants, and light gray sneakers.

The investigation is in its early stages and Investigators with the General Investigation Section
of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation.
Updates on the investigation will be provided when available.

Police continue to investigate murder of Douglas Keating

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the murder of Douglas Keating and and the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the case.

Douglas’ body was discovered by two pedestrians near the water tower behind 299 Main Avenue in Halifax around 10:50 a.m. on September 2, 2000. The investigation revealed that he had been assaulted and died of blunt force trauma. It is believed that Douglas was assaulted elsewhere, and his body was moved to where he was later found. Douglas was last seen alive the night before in the Fairview area.

 

Investigators believe there are people who have information that could help solve Douglas’ murder and we hope that the passage of time encourages them to do the right thing and share what they know with police. It is never too late to come forward and the smallest piece of information may be just what is needed to progress the investigation into Douglas’ murder.

Homicide of Rickey Walker in Dartmouth

Police continue to investigate the murder of Rickey Walker

Today marks the fourth anniversary of the murder of Rickey Walker, and the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate the case.

At approximately 2:50 a.m. on September 1, 2016, 48-year-old Rickey Walker was located in medical distress behind John McNeil Elementary School at 62 Leaman Drive in Dartmouth. He was subsequently transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

 

Investigators believe there are people who have information that could help solve Rickey’s murder and we hope that the passage of time encourages them to do the right thing and share what they know with police. On August 30th, 2020 at 8:40pm a car was travelling eastbound on Leiblin Dr, Halifax in the area of Birchfield Cres when it left the road a collided with a tree.  There were three occupants in the vehicle.  A man and a woman were taken to hospital with serious injuries and a third woman was checked at the scene and released.  Members of the Accident Investigation Section and the Forensic Identification Section were on the scene  to investigate the accident.

Help Police find ATV Stolen from Kingston

Kingston RCMP Detachment are investigating the theft of a side-by-side (Quad) 2016 Yamaha YXZ
1000R that occurred Between August 17th and August 23 rd, 2020. The side-by-side was stolen from a residence on Main Street in Berwick, Nova Scotia.

Weapon charges and seized handguns 

On August 27 at 2:14 p.m., officers responded to the 6000 block of Young Street in Halifax to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle, and the vehicle had fled the scene. Officers located a woman suffering from non-life threatening injuries and another car that was also hit by the run vehicle. Following a short investigation, the three occupants of the hit vehicle were arrested by officers. One of the occupants attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended by officers at the scene.

Two loaded handguns, knives, a quantity of cocaine, cash and drug paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle.

The pedestrian was treated at the scene. The run vehicle is described as a gold colored SUV and it hasn’t been located.

24-year-old Nathaniel Dominic White of Halifax is being held in custody and is facing the following charges:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking Cocaine
  • Possession of weapon dangerous
  • Possession of a firearm without license
  • Possession of a loaded restricted firearm
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to order
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Breach of probation x2
  • Fail to comply with release order

26-year-old Decoda Levon White of Halifax is being held in custody and is facing the following charges:

  • Resist Arrest
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
  • Possession of a firearm without license

  • Possession of a loaded restricted firearm

  • Unlawfully carrying a firearm

  • Fail to comply with release order

20-year-old Mariam Al-Husseini of Halifax is being held in custody and is facing the following charges:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
  • Possession of a firearm without license
  • Possession of a loaded restricted firearm
  • Unlawfully carrying a firearm

Police charge man and request public assistance in Halifax case

Police charge man and request public assistance  

On August 25 at approximately 8:20 p.m., Halifax Regional Police officers responded to a report of a stolen motor vehicle and were following GPS coordinates reported by a caller. Officers followed the vehicle to Waterloo Street and Fraser Street in Halifax when the driver put the vehicle in reverse and struck the police vehicle, which was following close behind. While Nova Scotia Serious Incident Team (SiRT) is investigating the incident pertaining to HRP officers’ actions, HRP is conducting an investigation into other violations committed by the driver.

Kevin Joseph Brezuk, 30, of Reserve Mines, was arrested and appeared in court today to face the following charges:

  • Motor vehicle theft
  • Dangerous operation of a conveyance
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Assault a peace officer x3
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Assault with a weapon x3
  • Mischief endangering life x2
  • Operation of a conveyance while prohibited

Police are asking members of the public to come forward who have any information on this dangerous driving incident that occurred on August 25 between 7:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.. The pick-up truck was driving inbound toward Halifax from the Bedford area. The vehicle drove along the Bedford Highway, Fairview Overpass, Joseph Howe Drive, Kempt Road, Robie Street and in South End Halifax.

The vehicle is described as a large, white Ford F350 truck.

Police seek public’s assistance in identifying suspect  

Police are looking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in relation to an assault that occurred last month in Halifax. 

At approximately 6:50 p.m. on July 27, police responded to a report of a physical disturbance in progress on a Halifax Transit bus. While on scene, police received a report that a man had been assaulted by another man. The suspect had left the area prior to police arrival. 

The suspect is described as a white man in his twenties, wearing a black tank top, black shorts, black shoes with white socks and carrying a black Fit for Life duffle bag.

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a robbery that occurred this morning in Halifax.

At approximately 4:45 a.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Irving Service Station located at 5450 Inglis Street in Halifax. A man entered the service station store and presented a knife. The man fled the store with an amount of money and cigarettes. No one was physically injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 5’8” and 165 lbs. He was wearing a green hoodie with red trim around the hood and brown cut-off shorts.
