Brass Theft – Lawrencetown

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in solving a case of theft of brass fittings from a well drilling business in Lawrencetown, Halifax County Nova Scotia.

Sometime between 5:00 pm on August 12, 2011 and 8:00 am on August 15, 2011 entry was gained through a hole cut in a chain link fence. $10,000 in brass fitting was taken from a truck and had a weight close to 2000
lbs. This theft would require some knowledge of the contents of the truck and a truck to remove the fittings.

Copper Theft – Annapolis County

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in solving a rash of Copper thefts in Annapolis County Nova Scotia.

Annapolis County RCMP is requesting assistance with several thefts of copper from Nova Scotia Power. Three thefts from Nova Scotia Power generating sub stations occurred between Thursday, August 25, 2011 and Monday, August 29, 2011. All were similar in nature in that the grounding wires for the chain link
fencing had been cut and pulled out of the ground. The grounding wires are bare and may be weathered and green as shown in the picture below. There have been other recent copper thefts from Nova Scotia Power in Annapolis County over the past month as well.

Theft of shingles – Middleton

Crime Stoppers needs the public’s help in solving two cases of theft.

During the early morning hours of August 8th, 2011, an unknown number of suspects stole approximately 50 bundles of roofing shingles from Allen’s Home Hardware in Middleton, NS. The shingles are worth approximately $1,500. There was a similar theft about a week before this one as well.

On August 11th, 2011, a contractor reported that 51 bundles of roofing shingles were taken from a construction site on the Middle Road in Nictaux (just south of Middleton). The investigation to date has revealed the two theft could be connected.

Vehicle Arson – Boutiliers Point

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in solving the following arson case which occurred in Boutiliers Point Nova Scotia.

On 2011-08-18 at approximately 1:03 am RCMP and fire department attended the government wharf next to Boutiliers Point Look off and 7112 St. Margaret’s Bay Road for a vehicle that was on fire. Upon arrival a 2003 Grey GMC Sierra fully engulfed. The firefighters on scene advised that a rag was in the gas tank
when they arrived. The wharf is currently under construction and the vehicle is registered to RJ Mac Isaac Construction Ltd Antigonish. There were no witnesses to the arson.

Theft – Truro

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in solving the following case of theft being investigated by the Truro Police Service.

The theft that occurred overnight on Thursday, August 11, 2011 from the Chignecto School Bus garage at 266 Crossley Avenue, Truro, Nova Scotia.

Stolen was:

– 2005 white Chevrolet Silverado 3/4 ton truck, NSL: DZK640, with trailer attached
– 2001 white GMC pickup, Restricted Plate: R24138, with trailer attached
– (4) Husqvarna whipper snippers ($400.00 each)
– (2) red Western plows (most likely attached to the trucks)
– (4) orange Kubota GF1800 industrial lawn mowers (two mowers on each of the trailers)

Both trucks have Chignecto Central School Board logos on the doors, yellow flashing lights on top of the back rack. One trailer has a license plate of R23558, the other trailer is black. Total value of stolen property $194,500.

The 2001 white GMC pickup was recovered in the woods off Pictou Rd Bible Hill NS on Friday, August 12, 2011. The truck was completely burnt.

Harassment/Theft – Pictou County, N.S

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help with an ongoing crime in Hopewell Pictou County N.S

The complainant has made several complaints to the RCMP about being the victim of property crimes and harassment at his residence in Hopewell, Pictou County. Victim believes they have been targeted since 2008. A Person or person’s continuously come on to the property and into the garage where items have been disrupted, damaged or stolen.

Suspicious Cabin Fire – Debert

On July 13, 2010, Colchester District RCMP were dispatched to a suspicious cabin fire on Reid Road in Debert. The Debert Fire Department attended the scene and extinguished the fire however the damage caused by same resulted in the cabin to being a total loss.

By the time the fire department arrived on scene the cabin was fully engulfed in flames with only the rear right side post of cabin still standing. As the cabin is in a very secluded area, the nearest neighbor is several kilometers away. Colchester District RCMP are asking anyone who might have information concerning this suspicious fire to contact the RCMP or Crimestoppers.

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in solving a case of break enter and theft in Pictou N.S

Sometime during the early morning hours of August 5th, 2011 the Pictou Royal Canadian Legion located at 130 Veterans Drive, Pictou, NS. Was broken into. The alarm was disabled, culprit (s) the went to the bar unlocked door and cooler door gaining access to safe and stole a large sum of money.
