Police continue to investigate stabbing and ask for public’s assistance

Halifax Regional Police continue to investigate a stabbing that occurred in Halifax last week and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

On December 2 at approximately 8:50 p.m. police responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of the 5000 block of Salter Street in Halifax. Officers located a 56-year-old man who had been stabbed. The victim was transported to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect approached two men who were not known to him, assaulted one man, stabbed the other and then fled the area on foot.

The suspect is described as a white man in his late teens or early twenties, approximately 5’10” tall with a thin build and short dark hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt with white writing, black and grey pants, and red boots.

Members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating and are asking anyone with information on the suspect, the incident or video from the area to contact police at 902-490-5016.
