Police investigate Bomb Threat

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a bomb threat that was received this morning in Halifax.

Just after 8:45 a.m., police responded to Walmart located at 6990 Mumford Road for a bomb threat after police received a threatening phone call from an anonymous caller. Officers are on scene and searching the area.

This building has been evacuated as a precaution and entrances to Walmart via Mumford Road and Chebucto Road are closed for the time being.

Update:

In relation to the below media release of street closures at Walmart, police have now re-opened the roadways.
Walmart has informed us of their re-opening as well.
Police members will continue to have a presence in the area for the foreseeable future, but have cleared the area and business of potential risks.
