Police charge youth for child pornography-related offences
Police have charged a 17-year-old male youth from Halifax with child pornography-related offences.
Earlier today, investigators in the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division conducted a search of an address in Halifax after receiving information from the Ontario Provincial Police that a person from Halifax had been sharing sexually explicit images of children online. Investigators, with the assistance of members of West Division Patrol, seized a number of electronic devices for forensic analysis.
Investigators in the ICE and Vice Units arrested a male youth without incident at the scene.
A seventeen-year-old male youth has been charged with one count each of distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography
He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Youth Court today.
