Shooting death ruled a homicide

The shooting death that occurred last month in Halifax has been ruled a homicide.

At 11:30 p.m. on January 26, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a man who had been shot at Connaught Avenue and Chisholm Avenue in Halifax. Officers located a man with a gunshot wound at that location. He was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries, where he remained until he passed away

An autopsy was conducted by the Medical Examiners Service today and the cause of death has been ruled a homicide.

The victim had been identified as 31-year-old Anthony Charles Johnson of Halifax.

The investigation is ongoing and investigators are asking anyone who may have information in relation to Anthony’s homicide to call police at 902-490-5020.
