Police Investigate Halifax Robbery

Police are investigating a robbery that occurred earlier this evening in Halifax.

At approximately 6:43 p.m. police responded to the Griffins Smoke Shop located within the Mumford Road Sobeys store.

A male dressed in a black Security Guard uniform armed with a knife entered the business and demanded cash.  The employee was uninjured and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.  He was last observed walking on Mumford Road towards Chebucto Road.  The Security Guard uniform had reflective bands on each of the arms.

Soon after the incident investigators believe the suspect changed his clothing and was last observed wearing a red jacket with black and white striped down the sleeves, an orange T-shirt, blue track pants with a white stripe and black sneakers with white soles. He was also carrying a black bag with polka dots.  After changing the suspect was last observed heading towards the Mumford Road Walmart store.

He is further described as a white male,  between 50-60 years old, approximately 5’8”, slim build, wearing glasses and possibly grey hair.
