Home broken into in Windsor Junction

July 24, 2019, Windsor Junction, Nova Scotia… On July 23, Halifax District RCMP received a report of a break and enter into a home on Capilano Dr. in Windsor Junction.

 Between 11 p.m. on July 21 and 5:30 a.m. on July 22, a home on Capilano Drive in Windsor Junction was broken into. The suspect(s) entered an unlocked vehicle in the driveway and opened the garage door with the garage door opener. The suspect(s) then entered the attached garage and went into the main area of the house. Several items were stolen from the residence including the garage door opener. The homeowners were home when this occurred but did not notice their home had been broken into until they woke up and subsequently called the police.

Police are also reminding property owners to lock their homes, garages and vehicles, especially overnight. Property owners can take extra steps to deter thieves such as installing outdoor lights, motion sensors or trail cameras.
