Man arrested after attempted armed robbery

June 14, 2019, Canning, Nova Scotia…A 39-year-old man from Centreville was arrested after a report of an attempted armed robbery at a business on Seminary Ave. in Canning this morning.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., it was reported that a man had entered a business carrying a gun. Gun shots were reported but no one was injured.  The suspect fled prior to police arrival.

A description of the suspect and vehicle was given by witnesses. Kings District RCMP located the suspect outside of a home on Hwy 359 in Centreville and arrested him without incident.

The investigation is ongoing and being led by the RCMP Southwest Major Crime Unit. Charges are expected.

Police would like to thank witnesses for their help with the investigation. The descriptions were extremely helpful in identifying the suspect.
